I grab the head lice shampoo and give them a bath.
I think that head lice shampoo is more effective than the flea shampoo from the store. I checked the ingredients, and it has the same type of stuff in it, only head lice shampoo has more and is less watery.

Go to your vet ask for a medicine called capstar it's a pill that kills adult fleas. I don't have dogs but my 2 cats also recevied a topical called revolution. The fleas just fell off of them within a half hour. The topical lasts for 30 days. They also suggested a house spray called knockout since 90% of the fleas are living in your carpet spray it everywhere then vaccum. Then 10 days later spray and vaccum again. I had fleas so bad and this took care of them right away.

Well three days have passed since you posted, how did you do? I really hope you got a proper treatment from a vets, like Frontline, Revolution or Advantage, or Capstar, and didn't follow some of the bunk ideas on here. Course human head lice shampoo works better than flea shampoo from stores - so does water, and it's less harmful. Get proper stuff from a vets, and treatment for the house as well.

If you set a little bowl of water with some dish soap in it on the floor and put a small light over it at night, the little guys will commit a mass suicide by drowning. I have heard sprinkling boric acid around on the carpet before vacuuming works also. For the dogs a good flea bath, Brewer's yeast tablets, and use advantage or other similar products. Good luck. Also if you are getting bitten yourself then up your B vitamins a little. They don't like healthy people lol. Mmm

First thing is to get some flea treatment for them. Advantage i find works really well.

Then clean the area in which they spend their time. Bedding, toys etc...

Then I'd recommended continuing with the monthly treatments so you don't get this problem again.

Good Luck
