Atheists only have one thing in common; the disbelief in god.
There is no dogma to believe in evolution and all that scientific stuff. Unlike Christians..
Now Christians have a whole Bible they have to answer for. They have to somehow prove that creationism happened, that there was a global flood, that a guy lived in a fish, that a prophet was born from a virgin, that the earth is like 6000 years old (YE) and everything else.
I hope you Christians understand this.
So if there's another question regarding evolution, the age of the earth and the big bang theory just direct them to the science section.
Thanks!

Christians are supposed to believe what's in the Bible. (ie. dogma)
Atheists don't have a Bible so they can believe whatever they want.
(ie. believe whatever you want to believe)
Do you understand?

Ditto for atheists.
1,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,
000,000,000 to 1.

Either God created life, or it arose naturally (accidentally) from non-living matter and evolved to the point that it is now.
Either God created the Earth, or it is just the result of some other force (big bang, etc.).
What other options are there?
If you do not believe God exists, then creation is eliminated and, therefore, you must believe in the other options.
Even if you go with the "aliens planted life on earth" idea, that does not explain where the variety of life forms came from and how the Earth got here originally.
So which is it? Even though you may not agree with it, at least Christians have an explanation for where life came from.
If you say you don't believe in creation AND you don't believe in evolution, then you have eliminated the only options you have. What then do you believe?
It is the classic equation:
Either "A" or "B" must be true.
Both cannot be true.
If "A" is true, then "B" is false.
If "A" is false, then "B" must be true.
Either the world (including life) was created, or it evolved naturally.
Since you believe there is no Creator, then it could not have been created, therefore you must believe it evolved.
If it was not created, and it did not evolve, then it would not be here.

Sorry, hun---no they won't. Christians HAVE to sterotype people, concepts of individual thought are insanity to them. Christians have their ORTHODOXY.
Besides, Christians are a bunch of SELF Proclaimed sinners. IF a sinner is willing to LIE and DEFY their OWN god, truth is nothing is really sacred to them. In spite of what Christians CLAIM, a person really cannot expect things like morality and knowledge from them.
Incidently, under the early greek defintion of atheist, a person can hold to a god form and still be classified as an atheist. Originally, the term merely meant that a person didn't follow a preset dogma or list of tenents. Their views were individualistic.

No, I don't understand.
Evolution and the Big Bang are the explanations for the universe and all the diverse creatures on the Earth if you rule out creation by a Creator. How else do atheists explain these things? The age of the Earth is necessary to make evolution plausible. In fact, most systems indicate a comparatively young Earth. Radiocarbon is used because it gives ages of millions and billions of years.
Evolution is an assumption, and the proof consists of anything that agrees with that assumption.

I've tried to make this point a number of times. They just don't seem to get it.
I'm not an atheist, but it really bothers me when people attack other viewpoints without even remotely understanding what it is that they are talking about.
I know spiritual and religious atheists. Atheism does not mean one cannot have these qualities. Christians don't get this.
These are the same people, you need to understand, that think Wicca is Satanism.
I don't think they'll ever get it. Some might get it, most won't.

Maybe some, but many...doubtful. I think because people's mind is set on things being a certain way, they feel the need to find the equivalent for other people even though an equivalent may not really exist.

Don't let the fundies get to you.
"Every man knows in his heart that there is a God, although some few try to deny it. I don't have to give account on the day of judgment, you do."
Wrong. Burden of Proof. If I said tommorow red firebreathing unicorns are going to engulf the world in flames that is my stance and it requires proof. Ever heard of burden of proof. Sorry but you failed Gary B but I thumbed you up for a valiant effort any ways.

Jees, stop ranting, you can have a belief or a non-belief, worship your non-god for all I care.
God is not the Bible and God is not a belief, this I know!
I know where wisdom comes from, I only use the Bible to verify the God that I know. He allows me to know the truth. He allows me to know eternal life in dependent of the Bible. He even allows you to distrust Him in order for you to find Him.
We Christians do not trust dogma blindly, we first must know God and before we are able to appreciate the Word.
Atheist's distrust God.
Great! Good for you, ignorant ungod knower, but it gives you no right to criticize good people who know God.
Hey, and I'll say this too, Christians that distrust science are distrusting knowledge. Knowledge is wisdom, and wisdom is His!.... eternal, never ending knowledge. Past, present, and future. If you distrust science you do not trust God. Their faith in Him is seriously lacking.
I do not fear downward thumbs!
If I struck a nerve ask yourself why you can't know God as well as I?

You believe what you believe and it doesn't matter what you believe or what anyone else believes or tells you. Follow your heart whether its from the dark or the light, its your destiny and its what you are here for. Its your destiny , if you want to live your life in eternal darkness you are welcome to it. For there is balance and I know as much as you think you will affect us those who dwell in the light you cannot affect. So try your best shot!

First there is the Humainst Manifesto. Second from your explanation of Christianity there is little you understand of it. You look at Christianity as a monolith with no to very little rational thought. You should really get to know the people you are criticizing instead of relying on stereotyping.

So...Atheist, how do you think the world came to be? Just curious, hope you add a detail...I'm guilty, I thought all Atheists were tied to some form of evolution, albeit on different levels. I stand corrected!
