You should visit Royal National Park , it's far from Sydney about 45 km in the South. You can go to Wattamola, Garie Beach... and you go through RNP you can go along Grand Pacific drive. Wonderful.

There are so many from the wet tropics to alpine regions. I live in northern NSW and there are seven National Parks within an hour's drive. There are companies that organise canyoning, climbing and abseiling in the Blue Mountains National Park near Sydney. I would take my time and Google Australian National Parks and have a look at what is on offer.

The best Australian National Park, if you ask me is the Warrumbungle National Park, it is rocky and it is diverse in aboriginal rock art.Along with nice rivers that run through the park and rare plants.

Mt Warning national park, northern N.S.W. well actually on the border of QLD and N.S.W.
Beautiful spot.
Wildlife everywhere.

kakadu in the Northern territory but be ware from oct to April the weather is tough going. Watch for crocs

Well there are so many parks with many interseting surrounds and stuff to do I think it all comes down to personal choice.
