He was a good driver but injuries slowed him up. He was in the top 10 in Cup points when he was in that nasty Busch Series crash in 2001. He's raced trucks with little success and this year ran some Busch East. He wants a shot at a marquee car but with so many young guys coming up I don't see it happening.

I think he needs to work his way back up and proove he can win on each level he competes.

BTW, I met Steve Park a few weeks after Dale Earnhardt Sr. hired him to drive in the Busch Series. He was at the Calvalcade of Customs car show in Cincinnati. At the time, nobody knew who he was, so there was no line for his autograph. I chatted with him for about 20 minutes. He's a pretty nice guy. Real down-to-Earth and easy to talk to.

I think he's capable of winning in a good car. He had a runner up finish in his last start for Jrs busch car (chance 2). He won a truck race not to long ago. As long as he can get in a competitive car, he should do fine. But I don't see him getting anything past a truck or busch ride sadly. I wish Steve the best!

That would be awesome if it did happen. I miss seeing Steve in the cup. He's had some time to recover now so who knows. I think he's going to have to prove himself in the Busch or truck series tho before any cup team will consider him.

Steve is a great guy. He had plenty of 2nd chances when DEI was competitive. He should be happy to race anywhere. Cup racing isn't for Park.
He is probably as good as Paul Menard or McMurray right now.

He will def. be back. He was a good driver until the accident. You never know RCR is looking for a 4th driver in 2009... That might be Parks shot.

Some might be afraid of hiring him, he might be "gun"shy". He had a great career ahead of him before that horrible crash. He should put in all the seat time he can, wherever he can, and maybe somebody will notice what he's doing and give him a shot.

I think due to accidents and injuries, he has seen the better days in nascar, sems like a great guy, but with all the younger competition and his history, probably not going to get him back in cup

Nope, his Cup career is over. Maybe along with his Busch and Truck career. After his head injury at Darlington many years ago, he never recovered his form. Aside from being older now, most teams won't touch him. There's way too much younger talent coming through the ranks to take a chance on Steve Park.

He was a good driver, however after a wreck that bad, you dont get back in the car without it being on your mind, I don't care who you are, and for Steve, honestly, I don't think he should be in a race car at all, he never did recover his form, and is going to be like Kyle Petty after his son was killed, too scared to drive fast enough to win.

If his Dr's think its okay.. He was a good driver before that awful crash..I just think he needs to get out there and prove to everyone he deserves another chance. That was one bad wreck he had.
