Nevada has the highest amount of BLM managed land in the country. And thousands of acres of it are open with ready access to the hunting public.

Our western states (sorry not Michigan) have the most acres of public land.

The real issue you will encounter is getting access to it. Countless acres are surround by private property with no public access. That still leaves enough to hunt on though.

Best bet is to decide what state(s) you are interested in. Then look at the acres of national forest and BLM land you may want to hunt. Good hunting land is of course a matter of quality habitat and not quantity of acres.

This is even more true when one thinks of how much was devastated due to the numerous forest fires.
