His milk teeth are loose, but I can't seem to get them out. One of his adult teeth are half way through the gum.

Take him to the dentist.

A lot depends on his age. If he's about six and the new teeth are growing through straight and true then don't worry - they will push the milk teeth out in their own time. Don't pull on them - you could cause an infection.

If he's a few years younger then best call the dentist. The new teeth will grow in fine but he may need some bracing to keep them straight as his jaw grows.

In any event - good on you for keeping up with the dental hygeine.

Try the dentist - it's free for children here in the UK. I am sure the dentist will most likely let nature take its course. The loose teeth may come out before you get to the dentist's!

If you cannot extract the baby tooth because it is slippery, wet a bath cloth or piece of gauze, ring it out and you will get a better grip. If this does not work, take the child to a dentist, the loose tooth should be out.

If you need to ask that question, then you are too dumb to be responsible for a child. Best bet is to go to the Social Services and say "I can't cope with my child's wobbly tooth. Please look after him until I get a brain"
