Well.....Im Jewish and I would pick the athiest if I HAD to choose between an athiest or a christian to have their finger on the thermonuclear device.

But, I think that quite a lot of soldiers or whatever they are who are in our armed forces and really DO have their fingers on the button, ARE Christians, or at least would claim to be, if asked.

So where does that leave us? So far, so good, but nobody anymore really feels safe, like it will never happen.

And I have known some athiests who are at LEAST as crazy as Christians can be.

Still and all, I'd have to go with the athiest, a bit more logic that is why. At the last second, I'm afraid the Christian might have some religious motive that might make that TEENY bit of difference in his hesitation that would cause him to push the button.

An athiest wouldn't have that underlying religious motive. Not that he might not have a different motive that might give him that last little teeny push, but still.

Yeah. After considering this, I'd still have to go with the athiest.

I'm going to assume you meant something to the effect of "finger on the button on a thermo..." and that you meant a weapon, not something benign like a giant nuclear power plant that would end our dependency on oil and coal. I mean if it were just a finger on a such a device it wouldn't matter since they'd need a mechanism to operate it. If that's the case, I wouldn't care. But if I had to choose between having an atheist and a fundy controlling the operation of a destructive thermonuclear device I'd choose a Canadian atheist.

An Atheist of course! A fundie would probably want to end the world so they can go to heaven.
Not much difference between Christian fundamentalists and Islamic fundamentalists IMHO. All have the martyr complex that makes a good suicide bomber.

An atheist of coarse. Wouldn't want a Christian having control over that kind of power, especially when there are plenty of other nations with different religions that aren't quite the best friends of the US. I wouldn't want to see a religious nuclear war.

The Athiest.

At least the athiest knows WE ONLY HAVE ONE LIFE.

He would only push the button if he had to, not because his "God" told him to...

But in a perfect world, there WILL BE NO thermonuclear device..
Let's make it so.

Probably the Atheist. The fundamentalist would be much more likely to use it.

Well the Atheist knows a thing or two about technology so the Atheist would get the job. It would be scary if a Christian was to hold it because he might say "I don't believe in evolution, so I don't believe in this".

As a Muslim I would definitely say ATHEIST.

Atheists are the some of the only people who currently have the moral strength to even criticize the oppression of the Palestinian people.

They dont take sides nor turn a blind eye to injustice because they think one group of people have a divine right to be cruel.......... they just say the truth.

In Islam, Shariah law reserves the right for anyone to choose any religion including Atheism and they cannot be forced to believe in God.

If they were to be forced then according to Islam their "test" would be NULL and VOID.

According to Islam, if someone wants to be an atheist......... then that is their free will choice and they alone will answer for IT.

Atheist definitely.
Atheist live in this life, today. Would probably ignore the damned thing.
A Fundie is forever looking in the future for............? Rapture? Heaven? Has no concern for life today and would probably push the button hoping to get to one of them NOW. Yikes!
