Incest is a poor practice to indulge in for various reasons..

1. Genetics a child born of incest is far more likely to have inherited genetic disorders than a child who's genes come from a more diverse pool..

2. Most cases of incest involve coercion, fear and control by a person in some authoritative role causing the victim psychological trauma.

3. Incest usually also involves sexualiting a child when they are very young with also causes psychological trauma..

4. In many cases incest also causes physical trauma in addition to psychological trauma..

Incest like any other sex crime isn't about sex it's about control, superiority and dominance..

I'm going to answer this from a scientific prospective.

The reason incest is taboo in science is due to a genetic phenomenon called recessive genes.

A lot of us have very serious disorders in our genetics. They are given to us by one of our parents. Luckily, these genes are often recessive. Meaning that when the other parents gene is paired with the defunct gene it overrides it.

Your father has a recessive gene that promotes a serious disorder.
Your mother has a dominant gene that promotes normal development.

Your mother's gene overrides the defunct gene your father profided and you are born a healthy child.

However... you still have that recessive gene. If you in turn have sex with a sibling... your sibling also has that recessive gene.

If you and your sibling procreate... there is a 1 in 4 chance that the child will receive 2 copies of the bad gene.

What you end up with is a child with a very serious disorder.

This is why we don't mate with our families.

----

My opinion on the matter is that if any two people want to have sex and it is consensual that is their business, as long as both parties are old enough to understand the meaning of what they are doing.

i dont think anything is wrong with sibling incest, and im sure its not all that uncommon. In fact is probably preferable to many other sexual encounters you can have. One of the best ways to learn about sex i would think. Having children this way is wrong biologically obviously. Parents SHOULD be an authority figure, and them having sex with their children is pretty messed up. and they clearly aren't learning about sex.

There is nothing morally wrong about it - it just increases the chance for homozygous genes which in certain cases result in bad things like deformities. In the society we live in it would be considered wrong, mainly because it is not the norm. We are raised to think it's a bad idea (because it is), but we usually think "ew that's gross" instead of "I better not increase my offspring's chance at having homozygous genes."

Marrying your cousins were a common thing especially within the royal families. However, marrying your parents, siblings, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews or grandparents are just very disturbing ideas for me to grasp.
I've heard that "incest" were usually practiced within the amish communities, no wonder they are a primitive society.

I agree with what it tells us in the Holy Bible. It tells us not to do incest. Like brother and sister. First cousins have done incest with approval and it goes way back.

There are no "certain" cases. Incest is never ok and I'm pretty sure you know that. You seem like you just want to open up a can of worms and get alot of attention to your question.

We fell right into it didnt we? You should be proud of yourself.

Been there! and it is never okay! EVER! and only a sick, and twisted individual would think that it is! The side effects never stop, never get better, nor does the pain! Low self esteem!Self injury! Depression, and so much more, are the main reactions to having been molested! Regardless of who does it in a family, the damage is never healed!
So, NO< NO< NO! It is not okay! EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In history that was accepted, it isn't anymore because the human body (DNA) is not pure enough anymore. That is the reason why is isn't accepted in our culture today. I don't care if you don't like the truth because you wouldn't be here today otherwise. That is another reason why evolution does not work. Instead of the body getting better, it is getting worse.
