Ok so today I was not home and my mother called me to tell me that a police officer along with 3 other people who looked like cops where at my house. She told me one mentioned I have a warrant out of my arrest. So right away I called the police station to find out this information and see if it was in fact vailid. They checked the NCIC. (checks nation wide+) to see if there was anything and nothing came up in the system at all. I asked the officer even if it was just issued would it be delay he said nope your name comes up with any filling charges or warrants. The other thing is I have fallen behind on my car payments and the repo man tryed placing false warrant report on my mailbox and saying call this number ect... but i did as before and nothing came up as well and the cops said it was bogus just the repo man doing his job. I know I need to pay my bills, but you think this is something to worry about the warrant thing not being one?

I am just trying to get my life back in order. I check to see if i had any outstanding tickets ect... nothing just a tag violation that I am taking to court for obvious reasons. Just has to do with my front tag not being mounted. And the repo man is believed to be one of the people that was saying he was a police officer as well.

Call your bank and show them the papers (copies please, keep originals!) so they know what the repo guys are up to. Work out a deal with the bank before the repo guy just takes your car.

Tell you mom to gt identifying information of any "cops" that show up - if they are fake cops, take all this info to the real cops. they frown on that sort of thing pretty heavily :)

You can also call the local DA and ask for the Consumer Protection group, becuase they will be able to lean on the repo guys too, or at least gather information for building a case later.

Since your mother made contact with these people, not you, she needs to call the police and tell them that they were impersonating an officer and that is a crime.

As for your car, get the payments caught up or it will be picked up.

If you didn't have a "hit" on NCIC, I would not worry about the warrant thing. Sounds like a cheap repo man trick. They were trying to get info from your mother.

Someone is LYING in this situation. My guess would be the so called 'cops'. IF they 'officer' is actually a repo man, he is violating several laws. It was NOT 'just the repo man doing his job'. He committed criminal fraud. Actually, I find is difficult to believe the police said what you claim the did either.

The first thing you need to think about is did you do anything wrong for there to be a warrant for your arrest, traffic ticket, ect. if not try to find out who the person was at your door dressed like a police officer because that in it self is unlawful.
