Christians or Muslims would not have come in to India to spread their religion and convert Hindus. But definitely there would have been clashes on Caste basis in Hindus themselves. There will be divisions within Hindus. In such a big country with the vast population there are bound to be groups and it will come up in the farm of CASTE. Even now we are facing this caste war though out India.-

Do you mean if there was only one religion? Which one? The first religious practices in India would have been those of the Dravidians I suppose. All the others entered.

I doubt that less religions would mean more communal harmony. People always find someone or something to hate .. it is a way of transferring their insecurities onto "outsiders", i.e. anyone who is different from themselves. If there were no religious differences, then they would be rioting over language differences, or colour differences, or height differences or rice-eaters vs chapati-eaters or something equally ridiculous.

Why should people feel insecure about their religion getting disintegrated? If a person is true to their religion and following the basic tenets of doing good not evil, and living a god-fearing life, then where is the question of it disintegrating? Religion is not supposed to be a big house, it is the personal relationship between the individual and the higher power. If that isn't disintegrating, then nothing is.

Less religions, more communal harmony and brotherhood between people. Religions with mean men at its helm are the root causes of terrorism that struts the growth of this great Nation. India is a country of over one billion souls with vast scope of a profitable fishing industry. Spread the net and you have a good catch. Incidentally what are the religions that have not entered India? The less known also, you will find in some pockets.

Religions are man made. if the people does not find any good things in it they will try another religion to get comforted or help. the religion which has love, forgiveness, and sacrifice is a good religion.

The religious heads have the power within the religion, so they don't want to lose it. so if anyone from that religion is seeking another religion they discourage, restrict or accuse other religion. This activate communal disturbances. The religious heads are responsible for the communal disturbances because of the fear.

No religious leader has come to India. The warrior, maerchants and invaders came to India and made it as a platform and started doing their ugly things in the name of religion. They have taken the advantage of innocent people of India.

Hindus need to let Christians freely reason with others there, instead of acting like muslims against them. If all freely feel in their conscience by unarmed argument to become Christian, then the Kingdom of GOD has spread in India at last.

All the Indians would have remained homogenious as a melting pot of indigenous faiths ---Hindus, Budhists Jains and Sikhs..
A number of good & bad idiosyncracies which they have received , accepted & imbibed from Christianity, Judaism & Islam would have remained unknown to them.
