Do you really believe that there is something after death and that there is a heaven and hell? For now lets just PRETEND that you do believe in both. Would you be afraid of hell and dying? Even if you think that you would go to heaven, are you still afraid of dying simply because you don't know about it?

I know that I am not afraid of death. In fact I have accepted it to the point of wanting to die just so I can be with God. I love Him so much and I want to be with Him. Is that wrong? I pray and I have had several spiritural experiences and I have no dotubt that He is real. I know that some of you may not agree with me that God is real and that's fine, I just ask that you don't flood the floor with your answers telling me that God is not real.

It's very difficult to imagine as I don't believe in Heaven/Hell but of course no one would want to be in hell, the name says it all, the thing I'm afraid of is not doing everything that I can do to my best while I am alive, so I try not waste a precious moment such as getting involved in bickering and fighting. If there is something after death I'm not afraid as I know whatever happens will happen itself, just like being born there was no need to be scared as I didn't comprehend it until later
I've just read your addition to the question, and although we believe differently I feel that perhaps you need to learn how to experience your God while you are still here, I think that's the idea of alot of scripture, as you grow your knowledge about life expands and you get different ideas about what God is to you personally, search within yourself for security and the rest of your life will flow from there and you won't feel this need to be with God as you will already have it with you (Whatever God for you is)

Are you afraid of dying??? Nope... If I have a choice in the matter I would rather live a while longer but if some unforseen accident happened and I died I am ok with that as well..
Do you really believe that there is something after death and that there is a heaven and hell? Nope.. Death is the end..
For now lets just PRETEND that you do believe in both. Would you be afraid of hell and dying? I can no more imagine there being a hell than a religious person can imagine there not being a hell..
Even if you think that you would go to heaven, are you still afraid of dying simply because you don't know about it? I do not believe there is a heaven or a hell... Death is the end live life to the fullest while you can..

I'm not afraid of death itself. I never have been. I do fear the act of dying, because I have a feeling that mine will be a painful death. I can only hope that this isn't true.
I've always believed in an afterlife, it's not anything I've ever questioned. Not even during more than 30 years of atheism did I doubt that aspect of my spiritually.
I'm not afraid to face the hereafter.
Like Pangel above me, I fear leaving my children before they are grown, and I really don't want to leave them at all.

I'm not afraid of dying, but I am afraid of the pain which may be involved. I'm a coward about pain.
As to heaven and hell, I cannot pretend I believe in them. I can speculate on the possibility of some sort of afterlife, but it would not be like that. More like what is described in reincarnation. A chance to assess what I had learned in this lifetime and choose my next parents so that I can learn what I still need to in order to get beyond needing another lifetime on earth.

I believe in Heaven and Hell and I believe that I am going to Heaven because I have put my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ who gave himself for me. As far as dying, I guess I would be sad to leave everyone behind but I would be going to a far better place so there's nothing for me to be afraid of! I do believe Hell is a real and Horrible place and hope that anyone who reads this that does have a fear of dying and or hell would consult a Christian friend /pastor etc. to talk to them about their eternal security. Sorry-didn't mean to preach but you did ask!

I am afraid of dying, but then I am usually very anxious about any new experience, and death would be new to me...
And why would God put you here on earth just to pray to die so you can be with him? Don't you think there is some underlying purpose to being HERE NOW?

I am afraid of having a painful death, and perhaps the dying process, but after that will be nothing. The same nothing that was there before I was born. That didn't seem to hurt me too much, so I guess I can deal with that...

Not in the least bit. I would like to avoid pain and suffering if possible but have no problem with the death part. We all have to do it. As I tell everyone, try to remember what it was like before you were born. Nice wasn't it? It will be that way when you die also.

I believe in God but to be quite honest, I guess I am afraid to die. Call it "fear of the unknown". But they say that before a baby is born, it doesn't want to leave its mother's stomach....same reason..."fear of the unknown", and its quite comfortable where it is.
But things are supposed to be so much better....in the next life, so we have that to look forward to!
I worry about the people that I will leave behind.

No. As a Christian I believe in the next life. We will be in spirit form. I believe we are going thru a part of hell on earth.I am not scared now.I am not a super human on the day that I actually die I will be scared. Even Christ was scared in his last moments that his body died.
