Are they the same thing?

I have this recipe where almond flour can be used instead of finely chopped almonds, but all I have is almond powder.

They are the same thing - just ground finer. Kind of like the difference between regular flour and cake flour.

If you are using it in place of regular flour for a dessert, it doesn't have any gluten in it so it will be a flat cake.

If you are using it because of a gluten problem and are looking for substitutes for grain, I found coconut flour works wonderfully for desserts. It is gluten free also but it makes wonderful brownies.

I don't think it'll change too much in the recipe. Use as much as the regular sugar as possible and only use the powdered to make up the difference. **** luck!
