If you don't have a lot of after market items on it (custom wheels/tires, upgraded stereo, body kits, etc.) then yes take the $5000 since that's more than the blue book value for most cars that are 12 years old.

Jump all over that deal and think of it as a down payment for your next car. I sold a 1997 for 4,500 and thought I had a good deal almost two years ago. Enjoy shopping for a new car.

Sounds like a good deal to me....for $5000 you can step up to a new or newer model truck.....

got 325K out of my last nissan p/u, maybe he knows something you don't, got an 06 now, imagine Ill be driving this one for a while too
