I've actually thought about this, and I believe we will be able to solve many problems at once by doing this: We launch all the religious people in a giant rocket off into space. By doing this we have a realistic community, population control, AND we help save the enviroment.

AMEN

Mohatma Gandhi

“Palestine belongs to the Arabs in the same sense that England belongs to the English or France to the French… What is going on in Palestine today cannot be justified by any moral code of conduct… If they [the Jews] must look to the Palestine of geography as their national home, it is wrong to enter it under the shadow of the British gun. A religious act cannot be performed with the aid of the bayonet or the bomb. They can settle in Palestine only by the goodwill of the Arabs… As it is, they are co-sharers with the British in despoiling a people who have done no wrong to them. I am not defending the Arab excesses. I wish they had chosen the way of non-violence in resisting what they rightly regard as an unacceptable encroachment upon their country. But according to the accepted canons of right and wrong, nothing can be said against the Arab resistance in the face of overwhelming odds.”

India would face censure from the UN, from other countries individually, and probably an economic boycott.

Insisting they live peacefully and obey the law of the land is quite a different matter. I could even see passing a law limiting proselytizing. But outright expulsion cannot be justified.

The Christians will come knocking on your door in the middle of that afternoon and hand you a free Bible, and the Muslims will get all angry and some of them will wage Jihad on India.

I have no idea why some Muslims care about India when they have Pakistan all for themselves.

Mahatma Gandhi

"I wanted to know the best of one who holds today's undisputed sway over the hearts of millions of mankind....I became more than convinced that it was not the sword that won a place for Islam in those days in the scheme of life. It was the rigid simplicity, the utter self-effacement of the Prophet, the scrupulous regard for his pledges, his intense devotion to this friends and followers, his intrepidity, his fearlessness, his absolute trust in God and in his own mission. These and not the sword carried everything before them and surmounted every obstacle. When I closed the 2nd volume (of the Prophet's biography), I was sorry there was not more for me to read of the great life".

I can't imagine a human society that refuse to hold all religions and viewpoints all in the same place living in peace.
