Will he? I dont know. Are they supposed to? No. The doctor will give you a longer prescription when they know that a good balance has been found for you. You really should go back in and get checked or at least make a call to the doctor. If you got these from a community health facility where you cant make a follow up call, then you will have to locate a doctor for yourself or make a new appointment with them. Keep taking care of you.

Since Zooloft isn't a drug of abuse, it should be easy to get some to tide you over. You could ask the doctor for it when you call for the appointment.
You could also ask your pharmacist to call the doctor's office for a refill for you. They do that all the time.
But I think good communication with doctors is good, so if it were me, I would want the doctor to KNOW I had the appointment before I asked for the refill.

I had this happen just recently as well...almost out of meds and it was a week before I had a scheduled appointment and couldn't get in any sooner. I just talked to the receptionist and told her that I was almost out of my medication and had an appointment with my doc in a week and didn't have enough meds to last me that long. She passed the message along to the med nurse in the outpatient clinic and she called in a prescription for me. It was easy. In fact, the receptionist was happy that I didn't wait until my meds ran out to contact them about needing a refill...I'm sure lots of people do that and then expect the clinic to have them ready right away. Just call your doctor's office, explain the situation, and you should be able to get a refill no problem.

Call your doctor's office and explain that you had forgotten to make your appointment. Schedule the appointment and ask the doctor to contact the pharmacy with a prescription that will last you until the date of your appointment.

Call your doctor and make an appointment and at the same time ask him/her to call in a refill for you. He/she is more likely to do that if they know that you've made an appointment to come in.
