Go to a doctor. Those can be HIGHLY infectious! If you consistently get infections in the eye, it can have adverse effects on your vision, even blindness! (on rare occasions)

Conjunctivitis is an infection of the conjunctiva (the tear duct). An anti-biotic should be taken to clear up the infection.

Are you a female?? (Sorry, I didn't look at your user name or avatar) If so, are you properly removing your eye make up every day?

Do you wear contact lenses? If so, are you practicing clean handling methods?

Is your pillow case washed regularly? I've heard that even this can contribute to sty problems.

See your medical professional, he/she will probably prescribe an antibiotic. Take ALL of the prescription, even if the sty goes away before all the meds are gone.

Best of luck, I know that can be painful.

According to my sons pediatrician there are 3 types of conjuncivitis, viral, bacterial and allergic. If it is caused by bacteria or viral infection it is highly contagious, the allergic conjunctivitis is not contagious.

You definitely should see a doctor in case you need a prescription to clear it up. Disinfect doorknobs, faucet handles etc. Get rid of eye make up or discontinue to use eye make up until it is cleared up, then buy new makeup!! There is an over the counter eye wash you can get that can help keep it clean and free from further irritations. You can also try saline drops to keep your eyes moist. Try not to touch your eyes!!

Warm moist compresses can help take away some of the discomfort.
