Hi!...........
I agree with all the posts about exercise and good nutrition. However.......Breast Feeding is your BEST weight loss friend!!!
While breast feeding....your body is BURNING calories at an enormous rate. (that's part of why you are so hungry!....but it's ok) It takes about 500 extra calories a day to make breast milk and that amount will increase slightly as your baby gets bigger and needs more milk. Your metabolism is up...... .(feeling hotter than normal?)..... and you are burning fat just by feeding the baby. Drink lots of healthy fluids...good for producing milk but also very necessary for weight loss! Fill that fridge with great choices that you love. (Yogurt.....cereal.......fruits and veggies.) You don't need to "diet" your body will do it for you. If you add in a smidge of extra movement....(a walk 3-4 times a week) and cut out some of the empty calories (soda, fats) you will see slow and steady weight loss.
NOW......about the phentermine. It totally rocks.
BUT.....
let your body do the work naturally first........wait til the baby is about a year old and then wean.....then...will be a possible appropriate time for the phentermine. Realize that it can/will disrupt your sleep (like you need that right now!), make you more reactive to stress, increase your blood pressure/heart rate, and make you irritable. Not everyone should take phentermine..........many conditions make it a dangerous product.
Make a long range plan to get back into shape by the time the baby's 2. (most people take 2 years!)
Breast feeding for now....(step 1),
with some walking and healthy eating to work for maximum healthiness (step 2),
then wean when you're ready (step 3)
and !!!!!! (step 4) TALK to the doctor (or the nurse.....who loves to help with these kinds of issues....it's her job!) about what a safe prescription weight loss med would be for you.
Your body has just done an amazing thing.....and is now making enough food to keep another human being alive. That's amazing!........give it a break........and some time.....
some love and healthy care........and it'll be better than ever.
best wishes!

I am always concerned when people start talking about taking weight loss pills, fat blockers, appetite serpresser and so on. If there was a pill out there that really did what it claimed to do, we would all know of it and be skinny.
The truth is there is no real supplement out there that is guranteed to help you loose weight, however there are a lot out there that can cause a whole pile of other health issues.
My suggestion would be to learn how to curb your appetite and eat more healthy. By the sounds of it you were doing fine before you got pregnant.
Try writting down everything you eat. It sounds annoying but will help you in the long run. Try eliminating unhealthy food from your house and replace it with lower calorie and lower fat food. When you go to the Fridge, before you open it, ask yourself am I hungry. If the answer is no, do not open it. Walk away and find something to distract yourself with, even if it is chewing sugar free gum. Usually cravings only last around 5 minutes.
Next, increase your exercise. I know you probably feel drained all the time, but simply taking a short walk everyday, dancing around the house to your favourite music or tunning in to a fun exercise show on TV, will actually give you more energy.
Finally find some sort of support, wether it is through friends, familly, a chat board on the internet, or joining a healthy weight loss group like Weight Watchers. This support is important as it will help keep you accountable.
Above all else, seek the advice of a doctor. Since you are breast feeding you want to ensure that you are recieving the right amount of nutrition. Please keep breast feeding your little one, it is the healthiest decision you can make.

Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week and you can easily do this without the help of any diet pills. These pills may get more than 2 pounds off per week but it is unhealthy and probably not long lasting. As soon as you stop the pill the weight will come back and you will gain more weight than you lost putting you in a worse position. Instead of trying to lose weight quickly try to do it over a period of time. It is healthier and more likely to stay off for good.

Forget Diet PILLS....
this is cheaper and safer -
1) Eat more steam food, lean meat, lean protein, vegies and fruits
2) Cut out the junk food, soda drinks and snacks. Get rid of the junk food from the cupboards! Eat cashew / almond nuts instead.
3) drink plenty of water / green tea
4) Exercise - look at combining weights and cardio into your program. you can look at alternating upper and lower body exercises without rest, say bicep curls, then lunges , rest and repeat. With cardio, try sprinting 100m, jog 100m and repeat.
Here's a review link to a program

For flatter stomachs, read this blog on the truth about six pack abs -

5) Have 5-6 healthy meals a day(1 plate portions) to keep your body satisfied
6) if you have cravings drink water or eat fruits
here's an article to a healthy diet

7) have an action plan for long term goals, start off with small goals and increase it gradually over time. And you will see in your size drop.
8) form a support group. Make yourself accountable to someone like your parents/relatives/friends/partners. Best yet, get them to participate in a healthy lifestyle.
Good luck

Here is what you need to do if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Lose weight) and you will have more energry.
If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads) in one and protein (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have any or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross country skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension) (YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. So your body doesnt go into starvation mode, YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF.
If you stick with this you will have a great body. also drink a least 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonalds, Wendys, etc because there is nothing good for you on the menus - even the salads are bad (bacon bits, cheese, dressing, etc)
Good Luck :)

Ok well let me tell you it takes up to a year for you to loose all of your baby weight. Even with pills. And if you are breast feeding that is better then not. It contracts your muscles and helps you loose the weight. DO NOT STOP>>> But you can not take phentrimine while breatfeeding. Really you wont need it if you continue to breast feed and take your baby for walks. You will see the weight drop off. Good luck. And congrats on the baby.

Don't let weight stop you from giving your baby what's best for her! STOPPING breastfeeding will make you gain weight! Right now, even if you're eating more than usual becuase you're breastfeedng, feeding your daughter will more than enough burn off the calories and then some. So breastfeeding is doing nothing but help.
Lots of gyms have daycares in them, check out one in your area and see if they have one!

I would not encourage you to take any type of weight loss drugs especially after having a baby. Your body needs to readjust itself from the 9 months of rearranging it went through. Crunches and walking are your best option just remember it took nine months to put the weight on give it at least nine months to take it off.

Ok, first of all, NO DRUGS. Second, join Weight Watchers. It works. I lost 35 lbs; my wife lost 40 lbs. They will teach you self control and portion control. Go check out their website, www.weightwatchers.com. I suggest you attend a meeting to check out their program. I like it so much that I now work for them part time. Yes, I'm a male working for Weight Watchers!
