It could absolutely ruin the friendship. What if your friend got the guy...wouldn't you be really jealous? and the same goes the other way around. What if you got the guy would you feel bad kissing him in front of her? and why should you have to hide your feelings for the guy just cause she's around. Do you see where i'm going? It's just not a good situation. The only problem is if you really like this guy either you 2 have to agree to both stay away from him or one of you gets hurt. Who is more important to you? The friend or the guy? IS this guy your soul mate or is your best freind your soul mate. you have a very difficult decision to make and you have to follow your heart. I choose the guy one time and now i have no best friend and no guy because he turned out to be a real piece of $hit! I wish you the best of luck. Whatever you choose will be hard. :)

Oh yes. It's very easy to ruin a friendship that way.
And a lot of the time, one girl will be like "Oh, it's alright. Don't worry go for him." But really they still like the guy.
The best thing to do is either forget about the guy or come to an agreement with your friend.

it wont ruin it if you dont let it. my friend liked this guy whom we would both flirt with, but she always thought he liked me more. she was the first one who did anything with him out of the two of us, but we ended up trying to "share" him and wondered what it would be like to have both of us be his girlfriends. (LOL we were young, like 15, back then). Im pretty sure he liked me more because we had sex and then she ended up having sex with him a year later. Its very gross but it never ruined our friendship. DOnt do what we did, except for the fact that we didnt let it ruin our friendship.

Talk with your friend about it. It can ruin the reationship if you let it. If it comes to that, just remember-guys come and go but your girls are there forever.
