Freedom to believe in religion had not changed and is not being taken away. That is what freedom of religion is.... and the 700 Club is a joke, so don't worry your little head over those false stories!

No.
What most christians don't seem to realize is that for a long, long time in America, the christians basically freely abused religious minorities without anyone lifting a finger to stop them. They even trampled the rights of some other christian groups that had some differences in theology with the majority.
The phenomenon of groups and individuals standing up against people that violate the rights of others is pretty new in the US. It really got its big start with the civil rights movement in which blacks finally were able to organize and resist the abuses they had been suffering for so long.
From the experiences of the civil rights movement, other minority groups, including religious minorities, learned what they needed to do in order to protect their own rights.
The freedoms of the christian majority have not been eroded at all in the US. Its their ability to freely violate the rights of others that has been eroded.
Sadly, many christians appear to believe that they have a god-given right to force their beliefs upon others. So, when people stand up against their abuses, the christians mistakenly believe that their own rights are being taken away, but this is not the case.

somethingtrinity - Russia still exists. Its the USSR that disbanded. Russia is still there. Perhaps it would be a good idea for you to watch something a tad bit more educational than the 700 club?

Yes, because like you said about the chasity ring, though the teacher had absolutely no right to tell her to take it off, because you can express your religion. A couple of our constitutional amemdments state the separation of church and state, the freedom of your religion, and the freedom of speech. Religion is a form of expressing yourself which is also a type of speech. Same as an artistic expression. A similar conflict happened about a year ago.
A flight attendent was told to take off her necklace of a cross. She said "no" and got fired for it. She went to the head boss and filed a complaint. Long story short she got her job back and was still alowed to were her necklace but had to keep tucked under her shirt.
But it's not just freedom of religion that's being taken away it's all of our other rights. Escpecially freedom of speech.
Heres a good example of what I mean.
Go to www.youtube.com and search for Florida State University student getting tasered.
All he was doing was practicing his freedom of speech.
Another thing about our freedom of religion. It is being taken away very slowly, or as it seems, that's because this country and the world isn't very Christan like. If our country didn't support Isreal then this country would be like a third world country. God has blessed us so much. And kept this country together. As Christians we need to go out a share the Word of God to those who havn't herd it and those who have but are confused. We need to explain God is real and that God loves us. The sad thing is that this world is moving farther and farther away from God. It is prophesied in the scriptures that hearts of man are hardened.
We are very close to the end times. We live in very dark times. I want to ask anyone who reads this. Are you ready?

though i dont have any thing against people displaying any and all religions in school. i can side with this that i dont want the government mixed with religion. public schools are run by the government by the way. so knowing this, if the government got involved in religion it would be scandalous. lets say if the government sided with christianity and told the public ok this is how it going to be every one has to wear crosses and wear modest clothing that will please our god. on sundays you will have to go to church ect.... america will be up in arms for sure. america as we know it will crumble. so you see. if children and their parents used the schools to promote christian religion or any other religion it will be a big to do. the government allowing kids to display their crosses or what ever will be in a way the government getting involved.
that is why religion is not in school. to stave away chaos.
so this is my oppinion.
deeep lol

No, I don't see Christians losing their freedoms at all. They are just slowly losing their status as favored religion. If the school forbade all religious articles, I have no problem with them making her take off her chastity ring, particularly if it displayed a cross. You can't make people take off their stars of david and pentagrams but then allow crosses.

I love watching the 700 club and did not catch that segment. I think that we are losing our freedom and I believe that most are too afraid to stand up for it also. I know that I tend to be a little more shy. Christians in other countries, especially when there was a Russia, would love to have had a little bit of what we have. We are spoiled, but soon it may not be this way. I think we get caught up in what we own, not Who owns us. We need to repent and start standing up for what belongs to us.

No. Look... you are being told that you have to get treated like everyone else. Like it or not, its about freedom. You are not losing your freedoms, you are being treated equally. And its about damned time. Your religion has been removing freedoms from people for millenia.

In what other ways do you perceive your freedoms being taken away? Are you unable to pray whenever you want? Is someone prohibiting you from attending church? Can you not buy a bible? Are you not allowed to say "god" or "Jesus"? Do you have to hide your Christianity?
