I kow New Zealand is beautiful, but its far away from the hub of the world, does it make you want to move to the United States, or do you want to live in New Zealand forever?

The "hub of the world", as you say, for a New Zealander, is New Zealand.
:-)
And no, we do not feel isolated, just... at a safe distance to everywhere else. It is perfectly normal and common for people to travel to other parts of the world from here, and considered part of a young person's development to do so. We call this "O.E." - overseas experience. But it's good to come back here, simply because you can leave the big, bad world behind as you travel back to New Zealand. And that's probably the most wonderful thing about it.
I'm not saying we don't have any problems here, because we do. It's planet earth, after all. But this is a tiny place. All numbers are small here. Our largest city, Auckland, is the size of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada - a city unknown even to some people in neighbouring Montana I was talking to!
It's the small scale of everything here that makes it wonderful - with the human being at the centre.
I want to live in New Zealand forever.
And I've tried the US, UK, Europe, and Canada, too.

Why would you assume people want to move to the US?? New Zealand is very beautiful, clean, safe, the people are friendly. You have all the benefits and conveniences of the western world without over-crowding. Kiwis also know a lot about the rest of the world, it's not an insular place
