The races included in the Chase for the Championship are based on the largest percentages of the types of tracks raced during the regular season. Since there are only two road course races in the regular season, to move one into the Chase schedule would make that percentage even smaller--NASCAR wouldn't actually add a race to the schedule.
So, the road courses are important in seeing who gets into the Chase, but not important enough to include in the Chase itself.
Personally, I would like to see a road course race in the Chase--it would definitely add another wild card, and I agree that it would be a test of a champion who can race on all courses, but I don't think it would happen.

Yes. They should have a road course as the first race of the Chase. The chaotic nature of a road course would make the points unpredictable. I'm a Roush Ford fan, especially 99, and I know 24 is the current king of the road courses, but I still like the idea of starting the chase on the road...

BOTH road courses - Sonoma and Watkins Geln - should be included, as well as having half of the remaining races at short tracks, and the other half at speedways and superspeedways. A good fast race with the possibility of "the big one" taking out half of the contenders is exciting, to be sure, but all of the teams have demonstrated an above average ability to go really fast in a big circle for 3 hours (4-1/2 to 5 depending onweather and "traffic" conditions). Putting the chase on the road courses and short tracks would force the drivers in the chase who had mediocre or sub-par performances at these venues - not to mention the fact that ANYTHING can happen, and usually does, at a short track - would force them to step up their game or step out of the way of the teams that demonstrate ability across ALL venues. It would truly, to steal a phrase, separate the men from the boys.

Yes if they are going to do road courses there should be one in the chase. I realize some drivers are less comfortable on them but if they are a part of Nascar they should be part of the championship. Maybe in Mexico or Canada or alternate between the two. The Busch road courses have been a success in both places.

I would have to agree with most and say yes, we do need a Road Course in the Chase. These are some of the best drivers, and so these tracks should be proof.

YES. If you use 2 road courses to help determone who gets into the chase you need to have one in it. It is a great test of driving ability and should be used to help crown the cup series champion. I would like to see a new track added into the regular season schedule and move Watkin's Glen to the chase.

Yeah I think they need to add a road course to the chase. One of the cookie cutter tracks could be dropped, and you could add in a road course, maybe do a race up in Canada, or down in Mexico. Double up at one of the road courses already on the schedule or move it so that its in the chase, or maybe run the road course at Indy, who knows but I would love to see them run more road courses through the year.

Yes they should have a road course in the chase. Out of the 2 road course tracks, it should be Sonoma which is more of a challenging road course.

No, The only races that I don't watch are road course races!
They don't belong in Nascar even during the regular season!
For those people that believe that a driver should be skilled on all types of tracks, I guess we should throw a couple of drag strips and a figure 8 into the mix!!!

nicely this previous weekend replaced my perspectives slightly of highway classes. different than for the gasoline themes. I hate while a race is set with the aid of gasoline mileage, yet besides, i think of it would be nice to function a highway course into the Chase. I certainly does not have a concern with including a song in the Chase that Gordon grow to be fairly a lot assured an actual 5 in.
