eat slowly/chew more than normal
(you will enjoy the food and you will *poop* it out of your system faster- which is good!)

put your fork or spoon down (that means on the table!) in between bites

use a smaller than usual utensil or even a straw for drinks and yogurt

don't sit in front of the TV
(studies say people who eat while watching TV will eat more than people somewhere free of stress)

put lots of effort into preparing it
(don't just open a wrapper and dig in)
** if i am eating at home and not on-the-run, i will take my yogurt (for example) and spoon it into a glass dish and make it look pretty. for some reason, i enjoy it more

don't feel obligated to fill your plate or swipe it clean at a restaurant. you won't be wasting food because you could always carry it out. you'll actually save money because the leftovers could make a good lunch the next day

CUT YOUR FOOD. don't take ginourmous bites. it doesn't look right and this rule goes back to the "prepare" rule

Eat smaller portions at every sitting and drink two or three glass of water during your meals ...the extra water will make up for less food, as far as your stomach is concerned. You will feel as full as if you had eaten your regular sized portion. Eat slowly!

Eat one of those 'power bars' with a couple glasses of water between meals.

You body shouldn't put on any extra pounds if you do this, but you have to 'burn off' any excess weight you have now ...no matter how little you eat.

I actual have an 8 three hundred and sixty 5 days previous nephew who's an identical way--at domicile. each and every nighttime there is this great combat, yelling, screaming, removing from the table-a huge practice. the mum and dad have even tried shoving nutrition in and attempting to stress him to swallow which basically makes him throw up. Now this comparable youngster visits my 4 young ones and me each and every summer season alongside with my nieces and nephews from a distinctive relatives. His mom and dad call each and every nighttime and ask what he had to consume. the everyday answer is, i do no longer know. I served such and such. i did no longer seem to work out what he ate (in spite of the shown fact that I do observe what is going into the boy). by skill of roughly day 2, without yelling or cajoling, he's eating his finished meal, seconds and specifically circumstances even thirds. i've got not got the time to make separate nutrition for somebody newborn with everywhere from 6-9 young ones right here, so he the two eats or no longer. as long as there is healthful nutrition on the table and no snacks he will finally consume. specifically circumstances that first nighttime or 2 he will state he's hungry. I merely point out, "Hmm. guess you've gotten eaten your dinner" then bypass away it at that. as quickly as the flexibility conflict is long previous, the concern looks to stay with.

Limit your portions. If you like food, you can try it but you will gain weight if you go overboard. Take "human sized portions" or just have a taste of everything but, make sure it is only a taste. It is very difficult to lose weight when you are used to eating larger portions, and when you go out to eat, doctors have shown that the portions are three times the size that one person should be eating. We have gotten used to large portions and upsizing our meals. We need to cut down if we are going to be healthy.

limit yourself to 100 calorie portions. If you have a strong craving for chocolate eat 4 Hershey kisses that's 100 calories. If you are craving potato chips place several chips on a plate and eat them away from the kitchen were u can access more. Try and eat your food very slowly, take time to enjoy each bite, and always attempt to leave a little bit of food on your plate.

EAT SLOWLY. It takes 20 minutes for your brain to feel the fullness. Portions in restaurants are way too big. You don't have to finish everything on your plate! Stop when you feel content-not stuffed. When you stand up, you should feel comfortable, not like a stuffed sausage! lol

Remember: Eat slowly, and smaller portions. Good luck. :)

Eat slowly, put your fork down between each bite and really taste the food. Often people hardly notice what they eat past the first bite.

It also helps to make eating an "experience," as in use the best linens, china , crystal etc, again paying attention to what you eat.

eat mainly whole foods. they are more nutritious and low in calorie. you can eat a LOT of whole foods with out going over your daily caloric limits and they keep you feeling satisfied for much longer. processed foods are exactly the opposite, they are high calorie, low in nutrients and do not keep you satisfied for long. and the kicker is they are loaded with all sorts of chemicals that the body is not designed to ingest. the more whole foods in your diet the better off you will be.

get a REALLY TINY fork and spoon..simple, but effective.

and i'm completely serious, the smaller portion you ingest at a time, the more time you have to digest the food, the faster you will be full and not want to eat anymore, it can make a difference :)

I realized that if you chew your food slowly and make sure it is almost desinagrated in your mouth, your metabolism will work better and won't have you gain weight as much. Key is.. DONT INHALE YOUR FOOD :)
