i was talking to this girl in class, and she's gorgeous, and she was telling me this story about her parents back home...

then i asked where she was from, and she quickly just said "iran" and continued to talk about her story... does this mean she's insecure about her nationality and where she's from? i know she's only been in this country for a few yrs./

People from Iran know that their country is not viewed favorably here - that is why she glossed over it.

Tell her you think it's cool that she is Persian - she might dig that. (Persia is the previous name of Iran).

Just don't judge her becuase of what country she is from.
