Hmmm....a thinly disguised homework question,methinks.
Did we forget our multiplication tables? Are we buying Pergo tomorrow,or trying to pass a quiz?
12 X 13 = 156.That would be 156 square feet of whatever the guys at Home Depot sold you.
What's next? Are we going to get another question tonight asking how much it's going to cost to buy 156 square feet of Italian marble at $3.35 per square foot?
I'm just yankin' yer chain.Don't mind me.I can't answer any question without being sarcastic.
NOT!

Your room is 156 square feet. Take the two measurements, (12 and 13) and mulitpy them together....which equals 156.

the element of an merchandise (for this reason sq. pictures) is length X width. or L X W substitute the numbers into the formula. The length is 12, and the width is 12 so, 12 X 12 = x (x is the section) so x = one hundred forty four = 12 X 12 so your room is one hundred forty four sq. feet.
