Hebrews 11:7 By faith Noah, after being given divine warning of things not yet beheld, showed godly fear and constructed an ark for the saving of his household; and through this [faith] he condemned the world, and he became an heir of the righteousness that is according to faith.

We are all descendants of Noah.

The world in which Noah lived had become degenerate. During this period angels who left their original position [heaven] left heaven, married women and produced offspring, " men of fame" whipping up violence filling the earth [genesis 6: 1-4 - Jude 6], until "every inclination of the thoughts of [man's ] heart was only bad all the time" the earth became "ruined, because all flesh had ruined its way on the earth" Noah avoided this corruption, "he was a righteous man. He proved himself faultess among his contemporaies. Noah walked with the "true God [genesis 6:8,9] He was spoken of as "faultless" unlike that ungodly world, he measured up fully to what God required of him -- Compare genesis 6:22
Jehovah set a time limit for that ungodly world, saying: "My spirit [active force] shall not act indefinitely in that he [men] is also flesh" Accordingly his [men's] shall amount to a hundred and twenty years." genesis 6:3. These words were spoken to Noah, his sons were grown and married when the divine instruction was given to Noah. Brought into a covenant with Jehovah [genesis 6: 18] and assisted by his family, Noah set to work as a builder and "a preacher of righteousness," warning that wicked generation of impending distruction.
[This passage sounds familiar, doesn't it] 2 Peter 2:5.
The people did not believe that God would act to destroy a world of wickedness. Noah possesed strong faith that he did "just so" 'accordilng to all that God had commanded him[genesis 6:22
The Christian writer of the book of Hebrews included Noah in that 'so great a cloud of witnesses.' " By faith Noah after being given divine warning of things not yet beheld, showed godly fear [fear of hurting Jehovah] and constructed an ark for the saving of his household ; and through this faith he condemned the world, and he became an heir of righteousness that is according to faith--Hebrews 11: 7 --12:1
With the ark occupantslife was preserved; the thread of human and animal life
Also, true worship survived, and by means of Noah, and his family;l Noah carried through the history of creation..
Noah kept an accurate log of the history of creation, along with a system of counting time back to man's creation and the original language [later called Hebrrew] Genesis 7:11, 12, 24:--8:2-6,10, 12-14.
Accordingly the people of today also act as the non-believers in Noah's time--and are now fulfilling the prophecies for this time period.
This is why mountain climbers have found fossils on the tops of mountains.
There have also been programs on tv about areas of the earth that received a deluge type of flooding,. The strongest evidence is the testimony of Jesus, who was an eyewitness in heaven [compare John 8:58] Jesus pointedly said:"In the days of Noah....the flood arrriveed and destroyed them all." Luke 17:26,27
The account of the Flood is far more than a story, Jesus indicated that it has prophetic significance. In his prophecy about "the conclusion of the systems of things," he made specific reference to "the days of Noah." He pointed to the Flood as a warning example of a greater destruction to come during "the presence of the Son of Man [himsel, Jesus] Matthew 24:3,37-39.Samples from six contentes and the islands of the sea; hundreds of such legends are known Australia--Kurna -- Babylon- Berossus' account --Babylon-Gilgamesh epic -- Boliva - Chiriguano-- Borneo Sea Dayak--Burma -Singpo --Canada -Cree --CanadaMontagnais --China-Lolo --Cuba-original natives--East Africa-Masai --Egypt-Book of the Dead --New Zealand -Maori --USA [Alaska]-Kolusches --USA [Alaska]-Tinglit --USA [Hawaii] legend of Nu-u - Italy - Ovid's poetry just to name a few with flood legends

Read the account in Genesis. First you must agree with these premises (even if you don't believe in God so that you can make a correct picture of Christianity) before making any conclusion. 1. God created the universe 2. God created man 3. God gave man the gift of "free will" You know and we know that man has fallen as a consequence of of his disobedience. Man cannot live as like "robots"(W/o free will) but God gave man the knowledge already that if he choose to disobey Him, he(man) will die. And that is what happened. And when at the time of Noah, men were going very corrupt in nature. Gen 6:5 And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. By flooding the earth, God was doing justice. Because if God does not allow that to happen, Noah will hardly survive, since we knew already that men during that time were evil and doing nothing but evil. Besides given in the premises above, who can question God? When in fact He was the creator, He also knew what to do to His creations. The logic is how can a clay say to the potter "What did you do to me"? Thus, we are a clay on the Potter's hand.

I agree with you 100%....because what you say is true to what the Bible teaches.

Genesis 6:13
"So God said to Noah, "I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth."

Genesis 7:6
"Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came on the earth."

Genesis 7:11
"In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened."

Genesis 7:23
"Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out; men and animals and the creatures that move along the ground and the birds of the air were wiped from the earth. Only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark."

You can all finish reading the rest of this story through chapter 9 of Genesis. Note the last verse I posted...EVERY LIVING THING ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH WAS WIPED OUT!!!!!! Not just on the land where Noah lived...the whole earth.

It took science years to prove other parts from the Bible true. For years the "flood" according to science never existed...now it existed in Noah's area....give them a few more decades and then you will all finally have the proof that our faith provides us with...that is that the Bible is true and God lives!!

The Bible also teaches us that sin does not go unpunished...a loving parent will always discipline their child when they are wrong. We may not like it....but God is a JUST God...patient, kind and loving but also punishes the unjust in His way. This does not make Him an evil God, it makes Him a God who keeps His word that those who He finds favor in will not die but those who go against Him will surely perish from this earth.

God bless you all :-)

How true this is. I for one have always wanted to talk with Noah about the Ark. I'm a major animals lover with a zoo of my own.

How wonderful Jehovah God is that He provided us with a way to stay true to Him and have everlasting life ahead of us.

Praise Jah.

Uh huh. if you say so dude. There is no evidence this ever actually happened. A big flood in there area probably took out a big section of land. But to them this was "the world" But the world as we know it today is a lot bigger than what they would think of it.

Do you also believe that the Grand Canyon was made by the "great flood"?

Here's the true story of Noah:

The traditions of a time when water covered the whole of the earth's surface are universal. Many races harbor the story of a world-wide flood some time during past ages. The Biblical story of Noah, the ark, and the flood is an invention of the Hebrew priesthood during the Babylonian captivity.

But Noah really lived; he was a wine maker of Aram, a river settlement near Erech in the Euphrates valley. The river dwellers were accustomed to rivers overflowing their banks at certain seasons; these periodic floods were annual events in their lives. But new perils threatened the valley of Mesopotamia as a result of progressive geologic changes to the north.

For thousands of years the highlands about the eastern coast of the Mediterranean and those to the northwest and northeast of Mesopotamia continued to rise. This elevation of the highlands was greatly accelerated about 5000 B.C., and this, together with greatly increased snowfall on the northern mountains, caused unprecedented floods each spring throughout the Euphrates valley. These spring floods grew increasingly worse so that eventually the inhabitants of the river regions were driven to the eastern highlands. For almost a thousand years scores of cities were practically deserted because of these extensive deluges.

Noah kept a written record of the days of the river's rise from year to year. He brought much ridicule upon himself by going up and down the river valley advocating that all houses be built of wood, boat fashion, and that the family animals be put on board each night as the flood season approached. He would go to the neighboring river settlements every year and warn them that in so many days the floods would come. Finally a year came in which the annual floods were greatly augmented by unusually heavy rainfall so that the sudden rise of the waters wiped out the entire village; only Noah and his immediate family were saved in their houseboat.

Almost five thousand years later, as the Hebrew priests in Babylonian captivity sought to trace the Jewish people back to Adam, they found great difficulty in piecing the story together; and it occurred to one of them to abandon the effort, to let the whole world drown in its wickedness at the time of Noah's flood, and thus to be in a better position to trace Abraham right back to one of the three surviving sons of Noah.

Where is your proof for this worldwide flood? There is no evidence that can back up this story... even theists have toned it down saying it was a flood in his general area... that he only saved those animals in his area... and even with such a toned down version of the story, you'll be hard pressed to find any evidence.

To point out a previous posters misinformation: there are several myths of 'worldwide' floods in many differing people group's religious texts. This by no means proves the existence of a worldwide flood. This however, can be explained in the fact that in the agrarian societies, they lived in flood plains and would be looking to explain the reasons for a flood. Hence an 'angry' god mythos took hold. Oh, and their particular 'world' was no more than a few 100 miles.

Good Luck!

You know there's a bit of "storytelling" to that story, whether there's any truth to it or not. No wooden boat would withstand the size mentioned. The weight of itself would destroy it. Not to mention it would take 1 man more than 6 days to load 2 of every animal onto it.

The geology of the world also doesn't show signs of a great flood, nor is there anywhere near enough water on the planet to flood the earth, but that could be attributed to a local area flood in Mesopotamia.
