I would keep him on your own property to be safe.

Usually vets give a series of 4 shots, 3-4 weeks in between each....so obviously he hasn't had ALL of them. Most likely he'll be fine but to be on the safe side, i'd definately keep him away from dog parks or dogs that you don't know are vaccinated. It's not an age thing though, it's a vaccination issue. I'd definately listen to your vet over the neighbor. It's highly unlikey he'd pick something up, but not impossible...if you'd rather not take the chance then wait a little longer.

As long as he has had all his shots, which at three months he should have, there shouldn't be a problem being around other dogs. At six months of age he will get his last parvo booster shot and won't be due again for any shots until he reaches a year for his annual shots. The most important thing is to make sure that his shots are up to date.

Most dogs are clean, but you want to be safe and keep it away from dogs you do not know. You can walk your dog around the neighborhood, but avoid areas where other dogs have deposit their waist (grass).
After your dog has received its last puppy shot, it is safe to be taken to a dog park. This event usually happens at four months. My dog went from the vet directly to the dog park.
My dog loves playing with shiba Inu (they play hard!); therefore, I have been exposed to this breed and their owners. These are no nonsense dog, and can be a real hand full! I have seen their owners love them and cry over them. Rule 1 for shiba’s is you never let them off leach. They are not like other dogs. If you want your dog to be dog friendly, then it is important (Urgency) to expose them to other dogs earlier than many of the other breeds.

Your puppy will be safe to go on walks once his series of vaccinations is completed, The age this happens depends on what age you start the series, it is usually 2-3 vacc, given 1 month apart ,These are the regular DHLPP (puppy shots) Rabies vacc is given between 4-6 months and he should already be on Heart worm med which also protects them from internal parasites

If he has had all his booster shots he can be out in public but not until then (your almost there). Going for one walk will not kill him but many doggy illnesses are air-borne and he can catch them without touching the other dogs. Use your best judgment. Would you take your new born baby out and about? I know you are very excited and want to show him off but it is for his own good.
Once he gets his boosters all done have a party. get a case of doggie beer and invite all of your friends and family and their dogs. This will be a good time to socialize him. But most of all, have fun!

this is hard. i felt since we were in the process if immunizations, we would be ok going on walk, and we only socialized with neighbor dogs i knew were healthy and had all their shots.....
and it was all OK until,,,,,,, one day while walking someones dags broke thru their door to get my dog,,, and getting these two large rot ts back to their house, the owner comes out and tells me he lost a pup the night before to parvo...
my dog got sick and almost died. she was not finished with all shots.... it could have been worse... if she did not have any shots like the owner of the rots, she probably would have died...
so, looking back, i would have not taken her out as much. but she is alive, happy, and now healthy, finished with all shots.. and we go for long walks. almost up to 3 miles..

he needs socialization. Just be careful of where you take him.. I wouldnt do dog parks because of the number of dogs there.. but he does need to be exposed to people and other situations while he is young. Puppy obedience classes that require proof of vaccines are a good place to take him too.
There is always going to be a risk of him getting sick.. but I wouldnt keep him cooped up in the house until he's older either, or you will have a very unsocialized dog!

Keep this little one in your yard, his body is brand new just like a little human baby, do not push it to get him out into the world, keep him safe is a must, I'd wait till he's 5-6 months old and take him to a forest preserve, dog parks,.... No you do not know what dog is caring what out there.
My daughter has an Akita, this is where your little one comes from, good dogs.
