Believe it or not... Jesus once told His disciples God wants us to call Him "Abba"....which is Aramaic for "poppa"...that's the tender type of relationship God wants to have with you.
Praying is simply talking, with honesty and an open heart.
As for getting answers...begin with trusting God for the answers. When my 2 yo wants something, many times I give it to him just because I want to see that smile on his face...other times, i have to say no...but he doesn't understand....wht I want him to know always, is my heart overflows with love for him.
and this is how God wants all of us to trust Him when we talk to Him!

To pray simply means to talk with God. Just as you would talk with any person, you’d be talking with God, except that you won’t see Him with your physical eyes. How should a child receive help from her human father regarding homework – supposing that the father is very loving, and the child knew that the father loved her? She would simply ask him for help, trusting that the father will help her. The father will surely help her because he loves her and wants her to learn & do well. He will have certain ways to help her learn the material. Likewise, God also has ways to help us (i.e., answer our prayers), but many, many more number of ways than we limited humans could think of. He has the entire universe, time, people, circumstances, and on & on to work with. This means the answer to your prayer could come in a way you may not expect.

Jesus told us to go to a room by ourselves and pray silently. If in need of prayer, check the Our Father.
Remember, the answer isn't always the one you were looking for. Praying with others and opening up to what your needs are could get you the help you're looking for a lot faster, too.

First you need to be humble and open to God. Be honest with Him and just talk to Him like you would to a friend.....because that is what He wants to be to you. You need to pray that His will be done in what you are asking. He sees the big picture and sometimes it is best not to give you something. He ALWAYS answers your prayer but sometimes it is a "no" or maybe to "wait awhile". When my kids asked me for some things I wanted to make sure that is something they REALLY wanted....so I would wait awhile before getting it. Sometimes I felt it was something they could not handle if I gave it to them at that age. One little thing I have been learning more lately is that God likes to be appreciated. Lots of times we DO get answers to prayer and we never thank Him. I will pray for you to be close to God and to really get to know Him....and to have answers to prayer.

You are doing it for the wrong purpose. You don't pray to get things from God, you pray to get to know God. Once you know God the things that you want are the things that He wants, and then every prayer is answered.

I think prayer is not the right word. Pray is to demanding something.A worthy child never demands and good parents nevwr create a situation to demand. As you are the worthy child of God you need not pray.Just keep on obeying his commands.
Moreover, to receive his answers keep your mind free as Engage phone line can't receive calls, engage mind never receive answers to your prayer. The best thing Which I am practising for years is to spare one minute every hour by detaching yourself from routine work ,observe your core self-a point od sparkling divine light shinning in the center of your forehead and radiating peace.Do it for a week every hour and you will feel you are able to communicate with Godvery easily. As communication is always two way, you can ask as well as reply. For more information mail me at bkrajinder@yahoo.co.in

Doesn't matter how you pray. Prayers don't get answered or actually cause things to happen. What people call answered prayers are really just coincidences.

The best way to pray is for you to tell god what ever is on your mind. I am sure that he will be listening. You will get a answer at gods time not when you want.
God Bless You !

First you must be born again. Second you have to pray God's will for your life. Sometimes God answers our prayers and we don't like the answer, like no.

The word of God contains over 7000 promises of God and in order to receive from God the first thing one must do is "Ask" and the second thing to do is "believe" and the third and final is "Thanks and Praise." You see We have everything in Christ that pertains to life and godliness. Yet one must realize that as you pray, you have certain spiritual enemies in the spiritual world that will hinder you answers to prayer from manifesting in the physical realm. Such as the case with Daniel, He prayed and fasted for 21 days and the Lord spoke to him and revealed to Him why it took 21 days to give to him what was answered the very first moment that he prayed. It is the same with us. By our faith we take the promises of God in prayer and make our petitions know to our heavenly Father and we enter into His gates with praise and thanksgiving. We approach God as true priests and in this time of being in the presense of the Lord, we have devine fellowship and we then by getting our focus on Him, we then sit quietly before Him and "LISTEN!" He will not speak to your head but to your heart (spirit). And He will always speak according to what is already written in holy scripture. This is called "Rhema" meaning "a living word) from God.This is why so many people who pray fail to receive because they allow the devil to rob them of their very heritage that is in Christ the Lord. They pray and then they doubt and their faith becomes inactive, stopping their answers from coming from God in the spiritual realm and manifesting in the physical. And yes, sometimes believers need to fast, (do without food). By fasting one becomes sensitive to the Holy Spirit of God because the body become weak and the spirit is made strong. The Holy Spirit is our helper when we don't know how to pray and when we rely upon Him, we get the perfect will of God for our lives and not the million dollars we think we need..No, we have our needs met, not just our wants...So, the most important thing in prayer is not just receiving but our experiencing divine relationshipwith the ONE who has called you and will reveal His plans as we go to Him in prayer daily.
