What I find interesting is that the big Bible-thumpers out there ignore John 3:16 when it comes to Catholics. This alone, from a biblical standpoint, guarantees Catholics are saved. We do believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the sacrificial lamb for our sins. According to the very literal interpretation of this scripture, it means all who believe this are saved. That includes Catholics.

The fact that they insist we are not saved means that it is a personal desire and not based on scripture as they claim.

Additionally, they claim to be infallible in their interpretation of scripture and yet balk at the idea that the Pope could ever speak infallibly. Even though it's rare that a Pope ever speaks Ex Cathedra , apparently fundamentalists believe they ALWAYS speak infallibly...amazing isn't it?

Yes I am "saved" by grace. It is pretty silly to look at the origins and keepers of Christianity for 2000 years(I am including all Orthodox here), and say that they are not Christian.

The Bible, brought to you byyyyyy The Catholics and Orthadox! Would you be interested in thanking us for the keeping of the sabbath day as sunday? Or how about celebrating Christmas and Easter when we do?

Do people think that Christianity just popped up with Billy Sunday(God rest his soul)?

i understand what you mean. Being a Catholic would not recommend you are not getting to have a social existence however. you do no longer could stroll around reciting verses from the Bible. purely focus on your courting with God. shop praying, shop going to Mass and receiving the Sacraments. all people desires to spend time with acquaintances and be stupid. starting to be a member of LifeTeen or any youth team became an exceptionally sturdy suggestion. you would be with Catholics your man or woman age. it might help to be around people who share an identical ideals as you and are in an identical subject. you will see how they are able to deal with specific pressures or circumstances you may bring about. Plus youth communities are regularly a mix of the two worship/discovering with regard to the religion and social events.

I'll give y'all several reasons your not Christians;
1) Thou shall not have false Idols
2) Mary should not be worshiped
3) What is up with ash Wednesday
4) Confessions
5) you can't talk directly to God
6) God never changes so why does the Catholic church
(those are just the reasons I can think off the top of my head)

Yes,
after leaving the Catholic church for 30 years,
only to find my way back!
I am a born from above believing Christian!
and wonder myself at the judgemental condemning attitude of our non-Catholic Christian brothers and sisters! who are so self-righteous and condemning.
Isn't God love?

Greetings. Many faithful Catholics stand with you.

Do not be discouraged by the Catholic-hate on Yahoo answers. Only God knows who is saved and who is not. Only He can save people, but we also need to respond to His love and mercy.

We are all tired of this pointless mud-slinging. People who accuse others of not being saved need to check their pride. Unless God gave these accusers divine perception to see who is saved or not, they should really focus on their own salvation. People are told to work out their salvation in fear and trembling (Ephesians 2:12).

As for the Catholics being a pagan cult who practice a false gospel. How quick the accusers forget that the bible did not fall out of the sky intact or were compiled by a persecuted elite. The persecuted did have their own bibles but they were compiled by cult leaders with an agenda. The bible used by modern accusers was compiled by the Catholic Church and altered by Martin Luther. How quickly they forget.

Accusers quick to state that we have a false gospel do not study history and seldom cite references. If they do, they cite Jack Chick, Alexander Hislop, or some other bias sources. Filled with rage and hate these accusers see not the harm they are doing, supposedly in God's name. God in His infinite mercy can and does use everything to gain us.

Jesus saves us from ourselves and the world. God's gift to us is life, what we do with that life is our gift to God.

Forgive those who hate us, for they do not know what they are doing. Always pray for them.

Know also that not all protestants are hate mongers. I personally know pentecostals, non-denominationals, and baptists that have the love of Christ in them.

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

I certainly stand for my faith, and enough so to devote my life to propogating truth and love about our faith. I love the tradition, the community, the scripture/liturgy and above all the Eucharist. All the real presence of Christ.
God bless always.

Count me in Brother especially when you get answers from bigoted little people who go on about false Gospels all the time and who do not have the Holy Spirit but the spirit of hatred within them.
