2 Tim 4:3 For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories.

Everyone likes to hear speakers that agree with them, especially if they are involved in something they know is sinful. You'd be amazed at the number of "preachers" "ministers" "priests" "pastors" or whatever they may wish to call themselves who make huge profits by standing behind a pulpit (or in front of a television camera), and tell their audience what they want to hear.
Did Jesus warn us about this?
Well, yes, He did...and so did His apostles, as you have rightly shown us here.

If a person claims to speak in God's behalf, they need to be aware that God will hold them to a much higher standard than the average "Christian-on-the-street"...of course ALL Christians speak for God, in a sense, but some of us are wise enough to refer our hearers back to God, and humble enough to admit that we are capable of making mistakes.

Now, that's the kind of minister of God I want teaching me.

God bless you!!

I dont know about tickling ears, but the god performed many abortions. HOSEA 13:16 Because Israel had rebelled, a wind from the Lord would blow in. They "will fall by the sword; their little ones will be dashed to the ground, and their pregnant women ripped open."

No, I don't. I only want the truth about Jehovah God. And His Word, the Bible keeps me going in the right path to Him.

Those false stories are the ones being perpetrated by christians like: the bible is the word of God, the trinity, say a prayer to Jesus and all is forgiven forever, God created the universe in 6 days, noah's ark, etc.

Pretty much what Christianity is today, but you missed one point. Those who are into it won't know they are. But today you go to church and sing songs, listen to hepped up preaching and testimonies, watch movies, videos and dramma presentations. Pastors are stand up comics, prayer is emotionalism, and activities are all fun.

No. I want to hear the pure word of God, and if it convicts me, if I'm not doing as God would have me, bring it on.
