IR with Canon 1DMIII?

Hi,
I was wondering if it is possible to do IR photography with a Hoya R72 and a Canon 1DMIII. I wanted to do this with my canon 20D but I read that this would come out with a poor result due to some IR filtering software in the camera's sensor. Is this the same with the 1DMIII or does it work?

Check out shutterbug.com. They ran 2 articles in 2006 about infrared with digital cameras. One was in the Feb. issue, titled "Digital Road to Infrared" and the other ran in Nov.
