Is there anywhere on line or someone I can call ( specific ) as searching is not helping to find out if this is mandatory or a law?

No, you don't!! That's silly!! Your employer has to pay for your homeowners insurance??

The only thing you have to watch out for, is insuring company property while it's off premises (at your home). But you DON'T have to provide any type of insurance for the homeowner. Heck, you don't have to insure the computer either, if you don't want to.

You can't find anything, because it's not a law.

Many employers that have employees working from home - will pay for an additional phone line and/or Internet service. They may also provide a computer or other needed office equipment (fax machine, copy machine). They have insurance that protects their items or they self insure those items. They do not pay for insurance on your house or your other personal property.

If you feel your insurance agent is honest, he'd know or be able to find out easily. (I trust mine, but I've known him a while.)
