Any Canon camera you chose will be well engineered, well built, and will deliver excellent photos. Whether or not that camera fits you best is a personal matter.

They are the leader in point & shoot digitals and one of the "big two" in the DSLR range. Check out the different categories here in the JD Power surveys.

If you mean in terms of generic reliability and quality, yes. But that doesn't necessarily mean that you must absolutely choose a Canon no matter what; many other manufacturers have cameras that, in several different aspects, may be just as good, if not better, than the closest Canon equivalent (in terms of price, size, weight, etc).

For example: compact Canon cameras usually have good optics, but Panasonic ones almost consistently are of better quality. They (Canon) also use good sensors, but Fuji usually puts better ones, in terms of ISO performance. And brands like Casio, Sony, Pentax and even Kodak, make cameras that might be better value for the money.

Choosing a camera based exclusively, or almost exclusively, on its brand, it's not usually a practical idea.

Canon is probably the best company for digital cameras. My current camera is a casio elixim, but I like my old powershot, the powershot I bought for my girlfriend, and our digital rebel at work much better. My next camera will definately be a cannon.
