because he is the one that perfomed the surgery? He placed me on a temporary partial disability, and my other doctor placed me on a permanent partial. Should I continue seeing both of them?

Unless you are trying to prove something that is not factual, you would find no better advocate than the doctor who performed the surgery. The other doctor would have, very likely, checked on the surgeon's report and written you up retrospectively. It might be, that another doctor would not bother to fully check your surgical details and therefore possibly give you a report that you would disfavour.
Hope this helps

the surgeon's interest is "was the surgery successful"

your other doctor may know more about disability than the surgeon. determining impairment and diasbility is a skill that all doctors do not have. it is not taught in med school
