We were thinking maybe a chinese buffet, but that doesn't sound very healthy. We were also thinking maybe popeyes, or a mexican fast food place or something. I just had subway last night so I don't want that again!

Where could we go that's somewhat healthy?!

Why are you going out to eat again if you just ate out last night??? You need to learn to fix some things at home. Since you are going out do NOT GO TO a fast food joint. Find a place that serves real sit down food and have a decent meal.

In my opinion, almost no fast food joint is healthy. Of the one suggested, the only one I would go to is Panera. I can get a vegan sandwhich on whole wheat with an apple on the side. I don't agree with Subway's claims of being healthy (despite having the American Heart Association's seal of approval) as they use deli meats which are loaded with things like nitrates and sodium (check the nutrition listings on the Subway site) and God knows what else that is in conventional meat. Also, they don't offer whole grain bread, just flavored white bread.

Other than fried chicken (something I didn't eat before I became vegetarian), I don't know what else they serve as I have never been there and never have plans to go there.

My husband and I like to go to BD's Mongolian Bar-be-que. It's a build your own stir fry that offers plenty of veggies (and tofu!) and brown rice. The food is stir fried in olive oil.

There is also a Middle Eastern restaurant we like as I can get things like hummus and falafel with either pita bread (which is white bread, but still good) or tabbouleh and pita, which we get as an appetizer.

Chipolte is also decent. Much better than McDonald's, though I wish they would offer brown rice. (McDonald's used to own Chipolte, which is amazing, as I would never set foot in a McDonald's and I think their "healthy" food is a joke.)

As has been said, most places can be made healthier, if you make special requests. Being a vegan with an omnivore family, I'm used to it. However, there are times when I just have a snack off of the sides menu then go home for some real food. (Vegetarians and vegans do not live on paltry iceburg salads alone.)

none of what you said is healthy in any way. even subway cant be considered healthy at times. there are lots of places you can go. but usually when you go out to eat you arent concerned about health. You can go to a steak house, order a lean cut of a meat, and a baked tater with very little butter. or maybe they have light butter, and some veggies. Order water to drink. You can MAKE a place healthy. just depends on your choices. and what they offer on the menu

there are a bunch of places that offer healthy food. i would just search online for nutritional facts for the meal that you are considering at the place that you are considering going to. subway is great, quiznos, jimmy jons, or potbellys can also be great if you eat right. also somewhere like a bennigans or chilis, where you can get something like boneless skinless chicken breasts can also be benefical to you.
