"You're just shifting the explanation (how the universe exists) to something imaginary and unexplainable (god). Why not just try to understand the universe instead?"

I ask a question and that was one of the responses I received. So, I'm asking how could that person have said that a higher being would be imaginary? I mean I am just looking at the possibilities here. I did not say that since science doesnt know it's DEFINITELY GOD. I am simply saying that there could be a higher being.

I mean the universe is huge and we just about don't understand it at all. So, the possibilities are great.

And directed to the person who responded with that, how about you understand the universe...and actually answer my question next time?

Discuss.

I agree that there could be a higher being and it would be foolish to believe with 100% certainty that he does or does not exist.

That being said, I have a strong belief that the god of the bible does not exist and I live my life accordingly.

there could be a higher being that does not meet you (or anyone else's expectations.
there could be multiple higher beings.
there could be no higher beings.

these are all possibilities, too.

it's also possible that the moons of Mars are made out of tin foil. or play-do. or cod liver oil.

but rather than making broad guesses that have no evidence, it makes sense to look at the evidence first; it might fuel the imagination - not hiner it. But looking at evidence means knowing that it's time to stop playing make-believe (for the moment).

This question is directed at me.

How did I not answer your previous question? I didn't claim to understand the entire universe, nobody can make that claim, except maybe you saying "goddidit."

How about you actually think about my answer this time?
