I have contacted the senators from every state that was considering a yes vote. I guess a lot of you did too.
It gives me a swelling of pride...kind of like "Bob" in the Enzyte commercial!

Shanelladd,
Richardson win? That's hilarious! Everyone knows he plays for the other team.

It has been shelved at the moment but I would not be surprised to see it appear again with some more modifications.

I would think just the military part would be able to pass, it would make for legal immigration to be very interesting if it did.

here is the response from durbin and la raza's cecilia munoz as to the recent failing from one of the groups who organized against the dream act: I want to thank everyone who invested their time and financial
resources to take a strong stand against the Senate's
nightmarish "Dream Act" amnesty push!

Last night Dick Durbin (D-IL), the measure's chief Senate
sponsor stated that attempts to attach the Dream Act to
the defense authorization bill had failed. "I am disappointed
for thousands of young people whose lives are just in limbo."

But even in defeat, the arrogance of amnesty Democrats was
clearly evident. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, bristling
over the defeat, said the battle is "still on" promising
passage this Fall!

Cecilia Munoz, senior vice president of the National Council
of La Raza added, "There is no question that this issue doesn't
stop here."

It's not "turban Durbin," it's "the well named Dick Durbin." His mother must have had a premonition.

and yes, he probably will.

As I've said, I am ashamed of my senators. I didn't vote for either of them, and never will, but Chicago really rules the statewide elections, and the unions tell everyone how to vote.

Reid said they would bring it to a vote by the time they leave in November, but it seems to be off of the defense bill.

Maybe next time they won't try to put something through that is more institution of waivers of existing law across the board (based on family unity) than exceptions only for students to continue studies.

But I doubt it. They keep trying the same thing and expecting different results.

For now, but just like Freddie Kruger it can raise it's ugly head over and over. I read some where the opposition was not as stronger as the full amnesty, but I am sure when they think we are not paying attention they will try again. After all they have been trying to pass the Dream Act since 2001.

The Dimocrats will try to pass more legislation for all of their La Raza and big business supporters. If they win the presidency and keep control of Congress, their first act will be to give amnesty to all the illegals in our country. Especially if Nobama or Richardson win.

Dick Durbin HATES America, America's military, the Constitution, and everything our Founding Fathers gave us.
He especially hates YOU having freedom.
He is an Anti-American Marxist TRAITOR.
Impeach him.
He certainly does NOT uphold his oath of office and the Constitution of the United States!

there was thousands of people who contacted them to. as long as they keep bring it back we will keep voting against it. the dream act is not fair to poor united states children who want to be Dr's and lawyers who's parents can't afford the education. the rich think they know every thing when it comes to the poor and middle class. they have looked down on people for decades. in reality the poor look down on them.
