if that's the case.. why does it not feel that way? I live in NYC and I never meet men. this expression drives me insane. Are there lots of fish in the sea?

Starry eyed, there certainly lots of fish in the sea. But sometmes we are fishing in the wrong lake. Or at other times we are looking for carp and only catching bass, so need to be less picky. If you have a hobby or special interest than perhaps you should join a group of like minded people and maybe you can find someone there with the same interests and beliefs as you to share life with. Or living in New York there are lots of opportunities to do volunteer work so you could do that and you never know who you might meet. Be careful when fishing though as there are a lot of trophy fish that are truly stuffed and believe that their poop don't stink. Continue to fish and believe in yourself and soon enough, probably when you are least expecting it, someone will enter into your live and be the one. Best of luck and happy fishing.

Ah, you must be in bad waters, or looking for the wrong kind of fish. haha, I honestly believe that there are as many fish in the sea as you'd like. If I want a guy, I get one, if I want to pout and be sad, then there aren't any guys. Just be patient and be in charge of getting what you want instead of waiting around.

It is hard to meet people these days, we are all very isolated. We don't get out into our communities enough. We don't even really have communities anymore.
The fish are in the sea, they just aren't talking to each other.

Well just so you know men from the ages of 25 to 35 live mostly on the west coast, women of that same age group live mostly on the east coast.
