Seriously? I think it is pathetic

I don't think there is anything wrong with internet dating as long as you take precautions. Just like getting to know anyone. You don't know if the man/woman you met in a club (regardless of what he looks like, shall we mention how handsome Ted Bundy was considered?) is everything they say they are either.

First meetings should be in public places and not for long, and someone should always know where you are going to be just in case.

Is this in regard to you trying it? If so...... I think you need to be very careful. Not everything you see or read is going to be true. If you do find someone that you are interested in "talk" to them for a long time before deciding to meet. If you do decide to meet, make sure it is in a very public place.

If this not in regard to you trying it then...... personally it is not for me. I like to have a physical and emotional connection and I prefer to be friends and hang out with people before I date them. All of my boyfriends were friends first.

It's ok for some people, just for the first date, meet somewhere in public, don't let the other person pick you up, and don't give them any personal info, such as your last name, address, home phone, etc.

with the internet it is very uncertain if they are what they say they are. They could be a 21 year old beach babe online but be an old granny who smokes in real life. It could also be dangerous. They could potentially rape you...

This question gets asked here daily...the 'net is a good tool for meeting people, whom you may eventually date offline. It shouldn't replace offline methods of meeting people, but should be in addition to them. ☺

I've known plenty of people who got married to someone they met online, or are in long term relationships offline, with people they met on the 'net.
