No. But if you don't, you may never want to go back to the same hair stylist.

I don't see why you should - they get paid to do the job. You don't leave tips for shop assistants so why should hairdressers be so privileged, you pay for the service. It's not like a low paid job I mean £25 for a 5 minute hair cut - that's £300 an hour -can't be bad considering most of us don't like the end result anyway and go home to finish it off. Hope this helps and have a nice day.

Tipping is a social custom, not a requirement, with no set rules. It is a personal decision, an expression of satisfaction on the quality of service you receive. It is a gift, usually in the form of money, given in return for services. The recommendation is to leave 10 to 15 percent of the pre-tax bill. In general:

10 percent means below average service
15 percent means average service
20 percent or more means exceptional service

Being a hairdresser myself I would say no you don't have to tip us. It's entirly up to you. We don't expect tips so don't worry yourself that the hairdresser will think any less for you not tipping. ML love from the cutting crew. x

I didn't know up until a few years ago that you're supposed to tip. My mother always paid for my haircuts, but then I started to work and spend my own money on haircuts. I noticed the lady I went to started to be really bitchy and I didn't know why... because I didn't tip was the reason why.

nah, but if you dont, dont expect great service the next time your come in. I always remember my clients that treat me well. I dont have a problem getting them in during lunch breaks, or at closing time, or coming in early. But if you dont tip, forget it. Thats just mean! Most of us work really hard to make sure you look good when you leave.

I tip a hairdresser like a waiter/waitress. If they do a good job, by all means tip them. If they don't do a good job then don't tip them.

No that is your Choice.I rarely ever leave a tip for my hair dresser or my nail salon because I can barley afford them.if you can afford yes it would be a nice thing to do.

generally its polite to give a 10 per cent tip to the junior who looks after you if your happy with how they treated you,but you dont have to....its the same for waiting staff and taxi drivers.....but like everything else some of them dont deserve it.....
