I think all the people have negative thoughts sometimes. it might be from shaitan or it might be from our self.
I think the important point here is how we do understand Islam. Many people try hard to pray as much as they can and they still have these negative thoughts.
we do sometimes concentrate on prayers, fasting, dua'a...etc. That is so good but we should remember that Islam is about how we treat people and what we do to represent the Islam in a good way.
So believe me if you want to get rid of all the negative thoughts just give some of your time for helping people and the community whether they are Muslims or not.

Assalamoalaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh!!
U wont believe this but are lucky mashAllah. Some religious scholar (a good one MashAllah) said that Sahaba repoted that we have such thoughts that we would rather be burnt to ashes that have them so Prophet Mohammad PBUH replied that is a good sign! A Sign that u are amoung pious and the MUTAKI because that shows that Shaitan has given up one making him do wrong and now wants the person to worry unnecesarily. So one should not pay heed to them He PBUH said. And ignore them every time they come or atleast try coz they are not ur fault!! So be happy sister! LOVE U SO MUCH! And by the way..Shaitan is weak. So ignore him.

Yeah it is actually Shaitan trying to distract you. He already won over my faith and distracted me and also convinced me that if I fast I will make my health worse and I will becme stupid at school. I don't know if Shaitan is right but I fasted the first two days and I got really sick and then I stopped fasting.
I would suggest that you keep on doing what you are soing now. Pray more, read the quran, and try to spend your time doing something useful rather than playing. Notice that yahoo answers may decrease your faith. It did for me. If you really want to become more religious avoid YA.
Salaam

This may be shaytan. Before you go to bed be sure to read the Ayat-ul-Kursi. This helps alot. If this doesn't work then read the Quran out loud, when the words of the Quran go around your house, worries are most likely to go away. May Allah SWT keep you safe.

Iblees(shaitan), life, my soul and my desires how to escape while they are all my enemies....
We know that the big shaitans are chained in Ramadhan but there are still small ones here and there, and they defeat a person it means that his faith needs to be araised.
However, shaitan doesn't want us to fulfil our worship and prayers. He or your soul will try to make you stop by telling you things like: you are making this worship to show yourself, then why don't you do this all the time. you didn't make this prayer good, you are making many mistakes and so and so...but a big scholar ( Ibn Al_Qayyem) tells us if Shaitan tells you that your prayer is very good and long, you are showing yourself then make your prayer longer and better, becasue he wants you to stop or makes it shorter.
When any negative thought comes up say Istighfar and "A'ootho billahi mina alshitan Al-Rajeem"
Mimi,
I don't know your age but you must be an adult, my nephews are 8, 10, and 12. Tthey fast all ramadhan since they were 7. They go to school walking and the weather is really hot. Fasting doesn't prevent them from being excellent at school.
I want to tell you something: It is not always Shaitan that comes to you, many times it is your own soul or human shaitan. You must strengthen your faith and know that breaking one day fasting without reasonable reason is a very big sinn in Islam and fasting a decade will not make up breaking that aday unless you repent. So sister I hope you go back to fasting and repent...After Ramadhan make the days up with much Istighfar.
I've read the following in a book to Ibn Al-Qayim named as : The Struggle Against Oneself & the Battle with the Shaitan" I think it is important for many of us to read...
Ibn Al-Qayim states that a servant of Allah will not be pious until he struggles
Al-Ragheb Al-Safahani says that knowledge corrects the understanding while struggle corrects the desires
“I struggled within myself one year to practice night prayers, then I tasted the sweetness of it for twenty years”
Soufian Al-Thawry: “I have not treated anything that was more difficult but my soul,
Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq asked Omar Ibn Al-Khattab to lead the Muslims after him he wrote: “The first thing I want to warn about, is your soul that is within you”
Hassan Al-Basry said: “The soul needs as much of a strong leash as a strong camel needs a strong leash”.

Dear Lavender,
Dont worry, maybe it's syaitaan, I thought during Ramadhan they are all been tied somewhere in the cage; but dont worry, they cant do anything to us, they can only scaring us, haunting us.
Sometimes it comes from within ourself, but that's normal.
You maybe young, I've been through that for ages.
Sure when I was young like you, I was scared too, but as times goes by, I become stronger and stronger.
"Subhanallah" is a good short words to remember , use it all the times.
Do good to, respect n help your parents, should kick any worries away.
Also, just a thought, as we are fasting, take some vit B complex every morning before you fast. The bad dreams and thought can come from the nerves as well, so it can be related to our lacked of vitamines.
They will go by themselves, just laughed at them, play monopoly with them, lol.
Good luck dear, dont forget your vitamines.
Our religion does not mean to harm us, dont worry. Salamu'alaikum warrahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

shaitan is meant to be locked up in this month so you are really battling with your own demons in this month
I recommend you read yasin shareef st least once a day and make dua to allah to reduce your fears.
using the beads (tasbi) keep reciting allah's names
Allah (The Name of Allah)
If you recite this name of Allah 1000 times daily, Allah will remove all doubts and uncertainities from your heart and instill determination and faith. Insha-Allah.
The link below tells you about the benefits of reciting each and every name of allah
http://www.islamicpath.org/dua_names.html
I know its hard but try not to worry about things that you dont have any control over - be at peace with yourself

Actually it sounds like you might be OVER worshipping,Prayer is very important but so is balance, you need to take the time to reflect on His words, Remember when you pray you are talking to God and when you Meditate thats listening to God. If you aren't resting properly your mind will get filled with thoughts and worries and doubts, If you aren't eating until very late, this can also trigger negative thoughts, I know its hard , you work all day, and may not come home until later , If this is the case then maybe you can pack a snack for the trip home, say prayers in the office.??
I know it might be strange but its probably better than what you are doing now.
Remember if your motives are pure then God will know .
Detachment is important, do what you can with bad situations, but also remember, when it is out of your hands, and there is nothing more you can do, Let God take it from there.
Sometimes there is nothing more you can do but leave it on the table and wait for Gods miracle. Other times you can fight for what you need.
Something that might be nice for you to try is Listening to the Quran being recited as opposed to reading it yourself, it serves the same purpose but if you listen to it before you go to sleep, you can let His words wash over you, and relax thinking only of Him. Letting your worries slip away as you hear His Holy Words.
Blessing be upon you my friend,
Meg

There is no such thing as OVER worshipping. You are doing very well. The small shaytans are attacking you because this is not your average level of effort, but dont mind them at all. they start acting like this when they're about to be defeated and are hopeless. I advise you to continue what you're doing and keep your faith in Allah. There's no way Allah will let you fall down and lose if you're trying to get closer and be better. BUT, be careful and make sure your intention is to please Allah, and that you are sincere. If you are, then dont worry at all and this will be over soon, in sha Allah.
Allah knows best.
