They are not smarter than anyone else. They just believe they are.
Intelligence has nothing to do with religion or the lack thereof. It has to do with learning, keep learning and ability to learn. Listening to both sides of argument and being able to learn more about the other side. This does not mean you have to switch and become one of them. It means that some of their arguments are basically sound.
Try listening more, you will learn a lot.

I am an atheist and know many Christians, both parents, wife, sister, bro-in-law, bro, essentially my entire family. They are all intelligent people and have their own reasons for beleiving in God. I believe that I have come to different conclusions based on the same data - that doesn't mean I'm smarter, I just have a different view and weigh the facts differently than they do. Of course I think my perspective is more logical, if I didn't, why would I make it my worldview? That is human nature.
However, I have been told that people feel the presence of God, know God, etc... I cannot relate to this in any way. If they truly do, and aren't just attributing supernatural to something natural, then apparently I am missing some of the data. If this is the case, and being an atheist I obviously don't, then I am the one who is weighing the facts incorrectly.

Not necessarily. I've met an atheist that said little gnomes shut off the light in your refrigerator when you shut the door. When I asked the stupid b* to explain that, she said "Can you prove it's not true?" I said there are no tracks, there are no little fingerprints, there is no living space, and she replied with some nonsense that they don't have fingerprints, they're invisible, they fly, blah blah blah. So I dug up some electrical diagrams showing how the switch works, and she called it rubbish. Yeah, so not all atheists are smart. Oh she also said she can't see electrons so they don't exist. Let me, as a scientist that supports the theory of evolution ask you all atheists something. There was nothing, then suddenly something, the Big Bang, everything got compressed then blew up. An explosion of formation, stars, planets, gases, but why? Any explanation is as good as another since we really haven't gone there. So you could say, why? Because G-d wanted it to happen. Or you could say, why? Because it just happened. Either is acceptable. A belief in a creator does not exclude one from the realm of science.

"I am a Christian. Are all atheist automatically smarter than I am?"
Well...judging by the way you posed this question, my natural inclination is to say, "probably, yes".
But I'll take the high road and say that we're all on the same train - its just that some of us are closer to the engine and others in the caboose.

Define smarter. More knowledgeable? Better at problem solving? Faster learner?
Christianity and atheism are hardly correlated at all by intelligence. I think this often comes up because those with more education are less likely to be fooled by some of the religious claims that float around. Scrutiny is the death of religion.

No, obviously not. There are plenty of smart Christians....my favorite being Francis Collins. Genius of a man and with the exception of him seeing an ice formation and that causing him to convert to Christianity, he's pretty awesome.

Some research done has suggested that there is a small but significant (in the statistical sense, that is, more than just sampling error) positive corellation between atheism and intelligence.

Definately not.
There was a time I would have said it was likely, but Yahoo people have changed that.
Theyve shown that many atheists are just as close minded and arrogant as the worst Christians.

I don't know, are they? What does being Christian and believing in a God (spirituality) have to do with being smart? It seems as though you are letting them get to you though.

My position is that none of can prove God exists and none of us can prove God doesnt exist. I actually find that most atheists I have come across are far more narrow minded than the average Christian who they accuse of being narrowminded
