I had true love. I gave up the ultimate treasure for it. I gave up my true love. because I couldn't ask him to give up his dreams and his career to be home with me. My dream of having a home with roots and a family, and a 9-5 husband was not what HE wanted. He wanted a jet setting free life with travel and money, just the 2 of us. it wasn't something either of us would compromise on and I still hurt from it every day thinking about him with Liz now. His weekend only girlfriend. But knowing he is happy makes me feel a little better and I know I did the right thing even though he still calls every few months to tell me it's me he loves.

True love shouldn't ask you to give everything up but you should be willing to. If you have someone you love, Husband , wife,or your children,etc and they needed something that would save there life,would you not give it freely to help them, if it cost you everything, even at the expense of it costing you your own life? I would. I think you would give up everything for real true love.

Yeah only, only if you know it's true love. You have to be sure, sometimes we think it's true love and give up everything, find out it's not and we done lost everything we had, but true love shouldn't want you to give up everyhing because what's yours is there's.

Depends. I'd give up a lot, but not my whole life, my dreams, and all that I was. If they WERE my true love, they'd expect that, and realize compromises had to be made.
But neither side should have to give everything up.
