30 days.

If you have to ask this question, you are not ready to be breeding.

These are the types of questions, that you should already know the answers to, if you plan on breeding your dog. Your Chihuahua, is now too old to be bred, and being pregnant and delivering puppies is very traumatic to their little bodies. Don't make her go through that trauma. Unless you know exactly what you are doing, which judging by your question, you don't, please leave breeding to the professionals. Small breed dogs usually need to have C-Sections and can die during delivery, if you don't know what you are doing and how to handle an emergency situation, which is quite common in Chihuahuas. Are you willing to put your baby at that kind of a risk? There are so many gorgeous, very loving Chihuahuas, in Rescue Organizations and Shelters, that need good, loving homes. Why not just adopt one from there? Please, for the sake of your dog, get her spayed! She will be a lot happier and healthier in the long run!

Yeah, what they all said and then some.I know NONE of this is enough to get you NOT to breed her,so,just to let you know, the answer to your question will be "the 2nd week of 3 weeks she will be in heat will be the best time for breeding. If she is ready, she will show it when the male is around.I own 12 chis myself, some are fixed, some I breed. The most important thing I can tell you is that it may be cheaper to go out and buy yourself another chi instead of risking her life and that of her pups since you really don't know what you are doing. If you don't have a minumum of $800.oo that you may have to invest in this birthing process,DON'T do it unless you do not care about your dog.If she needs an emergency c-section,it could get even costlier.Plz think this over carefully before proceding any further .

Everyone thinks their own dog is gorgeous. Glad you think so highly of your dog, but that isn't a good reason to breed her. For one thing, she is too old. Secondly, you don't know enough about breeding if you have to ask such a basic question, therefore, don't. Thirdly, seeing as she's already had a litter, why add to the problem of homeless dogs? If you have to ask about her menstrual cycle, my guess is you know nothing about gestation or whelping - and how would you plan on ensuring the pups go to wonderful homes?

She is too old to breed, you will endanger her health, possibly kill her by doing this.

Get her spayed, that will prevent any uterine diseases besides keeping her from getting pregnant.

The shelters and rescues are full of "gorgeous"
chihuahuas - why in the world would you want to breed more? Not for the money I hope, because if you are at all decent human being and have your dog and pups vetted, breeding is not a money making enterprise.

You see not to know anything about breeding and probably don't realize the problems involved - for you and your dog - please get her spayed and enjoy your cute dog as a pet.

Days 10-14 are normally the best days to breed her. Just remember that chihuahuas often need c-sections and that can run you over $1,000 specially if it is a late night emergency when regular vets are closed.

Please don't breed her. Leave this to the experts. There are some distressing genetic traits in the breed and any b&tch or dog needs to be tested for before breeding. This can be expensive. Breeding without doing these tests puts you in the category of backyard breeder.

Plus, you will be adding to the problem of overpopulation. Please have your girl spayed. Just enjoy her and take lots of pictures. You can share those with the world instead of puppies.

hmmm...you should probably get her fixed.
If you do not know the answer to this question already then you should not be breedng.
Leave the breeding to the pros.
If you would like to breed later on in life, do lots of research (and not on yahoo answers!)

your dog should not be your personal atm!

Please check out some breeding books from the library - Jennifer T has one she recommends. Learn as much as you can about breeding before you do it. It's not something to be taken lightly, especially with your precious little dog.

Why do you want to breed her? Are you showing your dog? There're enough abandoned dogs in the shelters already. Please help to control the dog overpopulation. Also, if you don't know about breed, don't breed.
