Definitely Bourbon....I used to work for a liquor distributor....they sell a ton of bourbon in South Carolina....Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Makers Mark, George Dickel...all friends of southern folk.
People will often choose Crown Royal Canadian whiskey over Scotch here. Go figure....there were so many Scottish settlers in these parts you would think it would be the other way around.

Born and raised in Texas and I would have to say that bourbon is the most popular down here. I am a Jack Daniels drinker. I drink it on the rocks. No reason to pollute it!

I'm southern and love a good scotch. The Jack is cheaper by twenty to thirty dollars a bottle, so it gets consumed more often.
