I bought my friend a heart shaped necklace for her birthday. I didnt know what to get her. I asked a mutual friend and she said jewerly. I didnt want this gift to say too much or anything at all, but she said it wouldn't, so I found a heart shaped neckalce. A couple days after i gave it to her I asked if she liked it. She said "I guess". the mutual friend asked if she liked it and she said "yeah, it was weird".

A heart shaped necklace is a bit intimate for friends. Her friend giving you the advice should have known this. Earrings would have been more appropriate. Your friend feels a little weird about the gift because she doesn't really know what it means.

She probably thinks that you like her, especially since it was heart shaped. If she is a good enough friend to buy jewelry for then you guys should be good enough friends that you can ask what's up. Why not ask her again and tell her you can always exchange it for a different gift if it makes her uncomfortable.

UGGH is what i have to say about how she handled it. my boyfriend gave me the same kinda thing, heart necklace with diamonds in it, white gold. I love it. she has no apperication for what you did. next time don't get her anything.. see how she likes that
