According to what I read on Jayski.com, Coors Light may become the official beer of NASCAR, replacing Budweiser, and Coors may also become the new sponsor of what is now the Busch series tour.(Winston Salem Journal)
AND could be the sponsor of the #01 DEI team in 2008
Coors Light will announce Tuesday a $20 million deal over five years to become the official beer of NASCAR starting in January. . The new deal includes renaming the pole award to the Coors Light Pole Award from the Bud Pole Award. For Coors, the NASCAR deal also replaces its sponsorship of the #40 Dodge in the Nextel Cup Series.

Well my husband drinks coors light so its all good!!! I am not a fan of beer i like good drinks with flavor!!!

Why in the heck is everyone so concerned that coors light is now the official sponsor of NASCAR. Do you think they wont let you bring Bud into the track or something. I mean people are freaking out about this. What the hell is the big deal. Its a sponsor change, it happens all the time. Winston/Nextel/Sprint. It doesnt mean Bud is going to dissapear from the sport and that wearing Bud memorbilia is going to get you thrown out of races. People get over it, Bud isnt the beer of nascar...the world will still turn, Jeff Gordon will still win and Jr will still be an also ran.

Well, it already seems like the Bud fans will have to go to Mt. Dew, AMP and National Guard. I've said it before on here, there will be a lot of changes in the next couple of years. Having another beer sponsor wouldn't be so bad. At least it's not as major as going from Winston (tobacco) to Nextel.
Plus, I WILL NOT drink Budweiser....... Coors Light is a much better beer.

They need to call it the Water Pole as thats what Coors Lite taste like...I'll go back to my Corona Lite.. I was never a big bud drinker, but all my Jr fans only allowed Bud to be consumed during a race...I'm sad Nascar is making the change, but its about $$$ thats all Nascar cares about now.. I'm happy I don't have to drink Bud any longer...for my other Jr fans they all are going to be in a Budweiser Withdrawal Syndrome.. I know they won;t drink coors lite and definitely not Miller Lite... They will probably stick with Bud, since they will still be sponsoring a car even if its not Jr, Dale Jr says he'll keep drinking it, as they never had to pay him to drink their beer...But my Jr fans will never be Kasey Kahne fans...Yep let the beer wars begin...

That's gonna suck. I supported Busch some but will NOT be drinking Coors Light. I drink Miller Lite, and it would have been cool if they had got Miller High Life to sponsor what is now the Busch series. I'd bet a lot more race fans drink that than Coors, at least they do in Wisconsin and the rest of the midwest.

I can't believe it will be called the Coors "light pole" It is all a business and money talks, I'm not surprised. NASCAR is loyal to no one but the dollar.
Shawn P I just checked the daytona international speedway schedule and it says "Bud ShootOut" Hmmmmmm Some thing fishy going on here.

I doubt that Coors steps up to sponsor the Busch series. Nascar wants too much money for it.
Has anyone noticed that the 2008 schedule still shows the Bud Shhotout?

Lovely, the official beer of NASCAR is going to be the same as pee. Coors light is horrible. Bud isnt that much better, but Coors,, yuck

I'm from WI and i don't drink Bud, Miller Lite or Coors.... I drink another brand completely. But, we can't stop the changes that Nascar has done in the past or the future. So, if they change another sponsor... so be it.

Canadian..yeah if I like my beer skunky.
Give me a Guiness any day of the week. Or at least something like a Samuel Adams. Or if you want a great beer try a Samuel Smith tadcaster Oatmeal Stout. Real beer. Something with flavor.

Since Jr. is going with the 88 team next year, hopefully he won't be driving for Budweiser. If you have an 8 tattoo, see if you have room for the 2nd 8.. =)
