Nobody. They out number us by a huge amount and we have better weapons. We would just end up killing each other and destroying both countries.

China would destroy us without a doubt. Especially if it happened now. Our military is too thin, dependence on foreign oil is too great, and they would have half the world on their side. The other half would be neutral. This is why it matters what the UN thinks before you invade a country.

They could buy all the oil from the places we get our oil for because they didn't just spend a half a trillion dollars on a pointless war. This is the OTHER reason Iraq was a mistake. I wouldn't be mad if we went in for oil, at least we would have gotten something out of it.

I don't want to lose that war, I don't want to see that war, but guys, we are (at best) a stalemate with Iraq and they don't even have a government or military.

For all those that disagree, what are you basing your idea on? Our technologically advanced military? Those guys in China aren't exactly stupid. And they also haven't been stagnant in their development of weapons. And they also have a lot more $$$ than we do being that they don't bail every country out of every hole they get in. We can't afford the war we are in today people. A war with China would be 10 times the cost financially and probably 1000 times the cost in casualties.

The Chinese own a monumental portion of our National Debt and supply a monumental amount of goods and services to our people. If the Chinese declared war and embargoed the USA, and then attacked us, we wouldn't last very long because we gave up our manufacturing and lost our ability to strategize by doing so. The only reason we won WWII and the Korean War was due to our ability to retool and remanufacture goods faster than they could be destroyed by the enemy. Very little is manufactured in the USA now and we wouldn't have the raw materials, the know-how, or the machinery it would take to ensure that we could fight back effectively. Our computer chips are made off shore. Many of our planes or the parts are made off shore. Terrorists have already proven that they can shut down our power plants, our phone lines, our railways, and even our airports, and the fact that U.S. Citizens have been complacent assists those who would harm the USA because the enemies are not worried about obeying the laws of the land, morals, ethics, or fairness. The U.S.A. has become foolishly complacent and reticent in protecting our borders, our infrastructure, our manufacturing, our resources, and even our intellectual property and our National Security.

An economic war perhaps, but they would have no way of actually attacking the US mainland. If they chose to use nukes, the retaliatory strike would reduce the world's population by about 1/5. Although they have the world's largest standing army. How would they get them here? Our navy would devastate any Chinese flotilla, our Air Force and missile defenses would eliminate any air assault. Perhaps they could fly into Mexico and walk across our border? That might work!

Yes we would win.

Yes, we would take many casualties, and there may well be fighting and some nuking on US soil.

Yes, a large numer of Chinese popple would be killed and their country destroyed.

No, such a war should never happen. Diplomacy would work a lot better, and just might lead to healthy business and trade relationships.

Bankers and arms dealers would reap huge profits as long as the war could be protracted for a few years. They're the only ones who ever really win when there's a war.

The Chinese have superiority in numbers, but the United States has far greater superiority in weapons and technology. Final score: U.S. WON, China nothing.

Too many of our citizens are obese, soft and have their brains fried from TV and staying indoors all day. I don't think in an infantry battle we'd stand much of a chance. No to mention we're BY FAR outnumbered.

Probably the Chinese, because the good guys have forgotten how to fight a war, all we know how to do now is fight half wars.
