If you are not allowed to take the camera, it is better to just leave it at home. The metal detector and any other device they may have can sense when something is on your person that is not supposed to be. That is why when you go through metal detectors, you have to basically empty everything out into a basket so it is not on your person. Just leave the camera home and take a mental picture of the concert. If not I am sure they will be selling it on video.

It most likely would beep. Does the place you are going have a metal detector? Not all concert places have that. In fact, I have never been to a concert with a metal detector at the door?!?!

Its normally not a big deal. Its not like airport security. Just remember they have to search a line of hundreds of people. Its easy to miss it. I used to put my big SLR camera in my sock because when they scanned with their wands they often didnt go that far down the leg. THe main thing they are worried about is guns and weapons. If you only knew how many people bring cameras not realizing they are not allowed. They can't/wont confiscate them. Worst case scenerio they say you cant bring it in. If that is the case you go to one of the other several lines and tell them you don't know what to do with it, until eventually someone doesnt realize you have it, or gives up and allows it in. No problem! :) The last thing most people in that setting want to do is argue with you and while the policy says one thing, many people in that situation would rather let one individual break the policy than have an argument with them

Have fun at the concert!

I have no personal experience, but if it is a metal detector and there is metal on the camera, then it should beep. I used to sneak recorders and cameras in but that was when they just patted you down, and we all know that they are certain places they just can't pat!
