no, you should never wear jeans to an interview. business casual is always best. this isn't too dressy, but it's a few steps above jeans. you still have to look professional.

Jeans and a T-shirt worked out well enough for me.
But I'm a telecommunications field technician, and I was already familiar with my current boss.It also helped that he was already familiar with the quality of my work.He told me that he didn't care what I looked like when I stopped by for our casual interview. We didn't even have an actual interview date set up.He told me to drop by whenever I had the time.
It was a unique situation. The company I worked for at the time had a contract with the company I work for now,so there was none of the awkward "first-impression" nonsense going on.I pretty much had the job as soon as I expressed interest in it.
You don't mention what kind of job you're interviewing for.
If you're venturing into unfamiliar waters with people you don't know then I would err on the side of caution and atleast dress things up just a little.

I dont think so . I think we they ask you to dress down it means going from proffesional dress to business causual . I dont believe that jeans are business casual either , I just went to an interview today and a girl showed up to the interview with a tshirt ,jeans and tennis shoes . obviously she was not taught how to dress for an interview . always dress proffesional no matter what they say . good luck .

Depends on the situation, but my instinct would be to say no. Never wear jeans for an interview, no matter the circumstances. Safest bet is to wear slacks and a nice blouse.

No. Jeans are not appropriate for an interview. Dress down means a simple blouse with khakis.

You could dress more casual, especially if instructed by interviewer. However I think you should try to avoid jeans. The first impression is always important.

Don't go in the prom dress, but wear business slacks or a business skirt. If you're male you want to wear business slacks and a collared shirt, tucked in with a belt. Just look professional yet casual.
