Have you experienced someone in your family, whose life was saved, for NOT getting a whole Blood transplant. Besides myself, that is.

Thk u all for sharing, I know it is difficult, when we lose out loved 1 in death. I personally, have lost to many loved 1's who have fell asleep in death. Both my dghtr's have a very rare blood type. And cannot receive whole blood transplants. When 2 surgeries came up involving 1 of my girls, I got myself armed w/ 411, for the battle that may have ensued, over No Blood. Then found out the Dr., wouldn't b using blood-can't-rare blood type. I am so Very Thankful to Jah & His faith & dicreet slaves, for helping me to come to know & understand to the fullest all that is involved in consuming whole blood into our bodies.Trusting in Him, we know that it works to our benefit. We can all rest assured that we will see them again, welcome them back, in the Resurrection and never lose our loved 1's again. Praise Jah! 2 ppl in my fam have cancer-1 took blood & died w/in 6 mos.The other 1 didn't and is still alive, fighting cancer but doing well, over all.
1 Thess 4:13,14; 1 Cor 15.
Praise Jehovah

In re-reading the answers....During my dghtr's hosp stay, was during the time the battle concerning Terri Shivo(not sure if surname is spld correctly) was raging in the media. For all ppl everywhere, have ur Medical Directives in place!... During the time of crisis/emergency is Not the time to place such added burdens to ur family. Some Med., personal may pressure ur loved 1, into going against ur wishes, as to ur medical care. It should not be allowed, yet it does happen.None of us, anywhere, want to let our loved 1 fall asleep in death. Get ur Medical Directives in place.Chose ur Prime. The person who will make ur med health care decisions, when u can't.
thk u all.

I've Been a Witness since 1972 and I Have "NEVER" PERSONALLY known of ANY Witness dying because of NOT taking a Blood Transfusion !
So the Whole Idea that there's ALL THESE "MANY" People that have Died Because of NOT Taking a blood Transfusion IS RIDICULOUS ! ! !
On the other hand there have Been THOUSANDS of People in THIS WORLD who's Lives HAVE BEEN SAVED because of (NOT) Taking a Blood Transfusion !
p.s. Now that's What I Call "BEING SAVED" ! ! !

there is not any logical reason for this. At one time blood transfusions have been allowed. Then all products containing blood have been prohibited. At different cases vaccinations and organ transplants have been forbidden yet at the instant are authorised. The so stated as minor blood fractions at the instant are allowed so are vaccines and education for haemophiliacs and rh- women, all of which comprise blood. whether JWs use those products they are selfishly prohibited from donating blood. This cult has misrepresented the provision and appropriateness of blood substitutes and chilly surgical operation. confident, those techniques will artwork in some situations yet no longer in all circumstances. The communicate approximately "ingesting" blood is incorrect - foodstuff is going into the digestive equipment. Blood while transfused is going into the circulatory equipment. this could be a merciless cult which might stand by way of and enable its infants die if it ought to. fortuitously the legal equipment in maximum international locations will step in to maintain the youngster. What a waste of courtroom time and scientific information those circumstances contain.

I had gallbladder surgery a few years back, the doctor understood my stand on the blood issue and according to him, he was fine with it
As soon as I was put under, he came out and tried to persuade my unbelieving mate that IF something went wrong, and I needed blood, that my husband was within the law to agree, needless to say, my children who were 17, 11, and 22 at the time stood up for my beliefs and my husband backed down because he had been willing to sign the papers "just in case" * sigh* some doctors are soooooo dirty!
Everything went okay, I was given ringers lactate which I had agreed to if needed or hespan or dextran.even ..gave the dr the "blood brochure" I suppose he never read it though.
I never went back to him and would not recommend him to anyone because he failed to respect my wishes by causing fear to over take my husband which could have caused him to act foolishly.
Jehovah is an awesome God and I am thankful that he allowed my children to have the insight to do what was right.

Well I can tell you that my mom just had surgery for colon cancer. The hospital here gave us a bit of a hard time when it came to the blood issue. They removed the cancer last Wednesday and she is now doing much better than the doctors expected and was released today. My mom is 67 years old and a diabetic and overweight. I feel strongly that had she taken blood she would still be sick in hospital. Praise Jah, she isn't.

Well that's one of those hard things to qualify, since, if you are still living one could say the BT, would've just made you stronger. I do know that my Grandmother was against them, even before she became a Witness. Often when she was in a hospital they would tell her, if she didn't have one she wouldn't leave the hospital, a few days later she would come home. Meanwhile at her Dialysis unit they were always terrified of patients who had received them ending up with AIDS or Hepatitis.

Currently not a JW ,but working to fix that.
I had major problems with this issue when I fractured my spine in 1978.
To cut a long story short .I had Harrington Rods put in my spine , after long arguments , the operation went ahead.
The doctors told me If I didn't die I would end up in a wheel chair.
The operation was done without a blood transfusion in a fraction of the time it would normally take and the doctors where surprised how quickly I recovered.
This was the first time this operation was done in Australia without a blood transfusion.

No, I haven't. In 02 I had to have an operation that needed blood but used the enhancers. Was not life threatening.
In my Hall a sister last year had to have her entire large intestine taken out and a Dr. from Calif. flew in to do it as he had done it without using blood before. He was very much into not using blood. He also was not a Witness and agreed with our looking at it as Biblical.
No one I know of with transfusions.

When I was in 5th grade, A girl died because her family refused a blood transplant. Her brother was driving and crashed his car. He survived and she didn't, but could have. The whole school held a memorial and took a day off to go to her funeral. It has happened many times, but it is their choice to take it or not. I am not a JW but have many friends who are. I would miss them but respect their decision if it happened to them

Roughly around1966 my sister was crushed ,her head and chest in a vehicle tip over. She was killed but they were experimenting with the breathing equipment in the hospital and wanted to prolong her life and used the excuse to raise the blood issue .That hassle my ageing parents didn't need at the time for sure, brought much hardship in their endeavour to remain faithful even though we were advised she was literally dead. And no should have been my short answer.
